According to this site...

It has been speculated that the song "Up The Khyber" was meant to accompany a scene of anal sex in the movie. 'Khyber' is Rhyming Slang for arse.

I'm afraid.

I'm sorry Dan, but I have no idea and would be happy to keep it like that.

You appear to be a good bloke, but if you start insinuating any kind of untoward romantic thing between us, I'll spurn you like a rabid pig.

Cheers,

Mark

All i'm going to say is that i really don't want any of that talk starting.

So don't start any - it's gross and immature and not appropriate here.

I was gonna
say something else, but Fixxy said it

Cheers,

..."
'Up The Khyber' refers to the hippies association with The Khyber Pass, which links Pakistan with Afghanistan.

Ha HA Ho HO He HE!

But isn't it really about the protagonist in the film, Stefan's, ordeal of prison gang rape, where it gets it "up the Khyber"?

Cool link BTW, LOVED the MP3 of "Dominoes" RFH 2002.

While on the subject of music accompanying anal sex scense...well, sex anyway...no offense to the moderator...but I think the part in Echoes, a little farther towards the mid-section of the song, when it gets really heavy into the base and Dave does that wonderful slide just screams sexual innuendo with the pounding and what not...makes me think it could be set to a dirty movie  could just be me

Love from the Underside,
`Me`

Heh,i've been reading this board for a while, but never felt like registering until THIS topic comes up ;P

Anyway,I'm glad someone mentioned that about Echoes =D I've ALWAYS thought that whole part of the song sounded like it music from a crude early 70's porno. Which I feel is quite interesting if you're into in Floyd synchronicities (as I tend to be).
If you do the sync between Echoes and the Jupiter And Beyond The Infinite segment of 2001, 'porno' music comes in at part of the weird flipped out trippy stuff that is very sexual in nature,i.e. the space ship that looks like sperm. Unrelated to Echoes,I always though that scene seemed to represent the conception of the Starchild born at the end of the film (birthdays are a common theme in 2001). Okay, enough of my rambling, but I always look for an excuse to spew my stoned-out theories on Echoes or 2001,or in this case both =D

I thought they closed down that topic due to inappropiate dialogue.
