Post Re: .On The Moving Images Of Songs..

I saw the video clips on the pulse tour.Quite fantastic.Sadly I dont know the history of all the clips except for the Us And Them/Great gig/ABITW2/Daleks.
The SOYCD film with the man sliding down the Drink Me bottle and the wasted man finally picking up the broom to clean whats left behind is too poignant for words.
"On the Run" showed a man quite resembling Waters.Good concept there.
Anybody here wants to add more info on floydian videos is welcome.
IMHO;Take It Back is a digrace both as a song and a video.

The "High Hopes" video is hopelessly naff.

If you mean naff, according to http://dictionary.reference.com/ it means this: Unstylish, clichéd, or outmoded.

But where I come from we just use it as an alternative to crap!

Thumbs up Re: Discussing Anew On Pink Floyd and related..

Down, down. Down, down. The star is screaming.
Beneath the lies. Lie, lie. Tschay, tschay, tschay.
[sound of Waters blowing into the microphone]
[light screaming from Waters]

Careful, careful, careful with that axe, Eugene.
[very loud and prolonged scream]
[another very loud and prolonged scream]
[Waters blowing into the microphone]
[light screaming from Waters] The stars are screaming loud.
Tsch.
Tsch.
Tsch.
[low groaning sound from Waters]
-----------
Which Version of the song is this :-?
  • ummagumma
  • relics
  • live at pompei

Question Re: Data Errors On DSOTM..?

Quote:
Dark Side of the Moon was on Billboard 200 for 591 consecutive weeks, and that is 11 years. According to what I've found, the album stayed on the chart from March 17th, 1973, to October 19th, 1974 (84 weeks), and dropped off for 24 weeks. In April 12th, 1975, the album returned to the charts and would stay another 48 weeks, until March 6th, 1976. The album would stay 40 weeks out of the charts and would return in December 18th, 1976. It would then stay 591 consecutive weeks, until April 23rd, 1988, when it dropped off for good. As Billboard changed its charts methodology, Dark Side of the Moon is never going to return to the Top 200 and it is unlikely another album will break its record. According to this data, Dark Side of the Moon remained 723 weeks on the charts, but I've read somewhere else that it spent 724 or 741 weeks on the charts. I don't know which is the exact number, but I hope I've clarified a few points.(signed edit)
How long was Dark Side on the charts? The article says "The critically-acclaimed album stayed on the Billboard Top 200 for 741 weeks (including 591 consecutive weeks from 1973 to 1988)", but 591 weeks would be only 11 years and some months. 741 weeks would be 14+ years, but I don't know the facts.(signed edit 2005)

anyone who like to clear up this ??
