Robbie Williams is a.......

During the New Year festivities, I ended up at a house where they were actually showing a Robbie Williams DVD! I started laughing and passed the comment that he looked like Norman Wisdom! I followed this with the opinion that he was a first class tosser. This was met with howls of derision by quite a number of women who were glued to the screen.
I came away from the assembled throng, wondering whether it was me that was wrong? Could I be out of sync with the masses? Since there are a variety of age groups on this site I'm having a poll to let you help me to decide whether Robbie is 'really good' or 'really sh*t'?

I reckon he is quite talented actually, not my cup of coffee though.

I thought that the preparation he did before Floyd's show as Production Director at Knebworth '75 was excellent.

I thought he kinda sucked ass at Live 8 and wouldn't get off the stage quick enuff so The Who could play.

As far as Mr Williams is concerned.. The only exposure I have had with him is what I saw on my Live 8 DVD..

He is certainly better than Hillary Duff or Lindsay Lohan and every bit as feminine.. but he doesn't do much for me otherwise.. I say tosser..

I may be slightly outnumbered on this, but I respected the fact that he didn't launch into hypocritical platitudes on poverty when candidly interviewed backstage and gave probably the most energetic and, dare I say it, best performance of anybody there that day

Well, probably a lot of people here won't agree with me but I do like Robbie Williams (er... his music, I mean...). It's not that I'm a great fan or anything like that, in fact my exposure to him has only been through the video-clips on the TV and a live recording my ex gave me, but I find some of his songs quite pleasant. I don't know if he is a talented singer but I think that he is an accomplished showman. It surely isn't easy going out in front of an XXXL crowd of people and making the display of energy he made at Live8. His performance in that show was one of my favourites along with The Who but not as good as Velvet Revolver. And of course, no one came even close to the mighty Floyd!

I guess he`s pretty talented, but I just don`t really care about him and his music.

He has to be kidding, Mariah Carey was the absolute best. But yeah, Robbie Williams is a talented bloke who knows how to write a decent song and he is a great performer. I knew these kids were gonna shit all over him but I think that's a bit foolish really. Just because he makes popular music doesn't necessarily mean he's shite.
