Re: Carful with that Axe

Relics has both of them. there was no studio album that had either on it. however the shine on box set has a cd called "the first 4 singles" and arnold layne is on there. get relics and youll be fine.

Re: Carful with that Axe

hey

i only know arnold layne is a single. you can find it on 'relics' and 'the best of Pink Floyd'. and in the rare 'early works' LP box.

you can find CWTAY in an earlier version on the soundtrack from the movie 'zabriskiepoint'. CWTAY is also on relics. relics is a compilationLP.

thats all i know about it.

Re: Carful with that Axe

Technically, a bootleg of Pompeii couldn't exist, because the boys were there all by themselves....no audience.

I suppose a roadie could have recorded it on a portable tape recorder, but those were such poor quality at the time that it's unlikely.

Only live versions?

Wait a minute!!!!!!

The only version of Careful With That Axe, Eugene is Ummagumma's, which is a live version. Is Relics's version live too, or it's the same? Can you say me if there is a Studio Version?

* You can find Arnold Layne at "Echoes - The Best of Pink Floyd", which is a double disc.

Re: Careful with that Axe

Relic's version is a studio version. There's another studio version in the soundtrack to "Zabriskie Point" but it is called "Come In Number 51, Your Time's Up" and I prefer this version to the Relic's one (it's rougher and more aggressive).

Re: Careful with that Axe

"Come In" is not an earlier version of the song, it's actually a remake (well, closer to something like a re-re-remake).
