bohemian rhapsody and somebody to love are similar in some ways, but i feel bo rhap overshadows most , if not all of queens other work.


when bo rhap came out it woz jaw-dropping material, i sometimes wonder if somebody to love had of been the earlier release, would it of caused as much of a stir?

which of the two do you prefer?

I prefer "Somebody to Love" because of the lyrics, but I also guess that the problem with "Bohemian Rhapsody" is that it has been played to death, just like "Money", "Stairway to Heaven" and... well, all the other stuff that has been played to death.

A girl with good taste, indeed.

Both 'Somebody To Love' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' are excellent tracks. But I still prefer 'Seven Seas of Rhye'. It was their first small hit, after all.

And I like Bohemian Rhapsody, it`s such a masterpiece, and it is played to death, many songs are played to death, but I don`t listen to radio that much, so I don`t care.

Bohemian Rhaposody certainly established Queen as a band of Epic proportion and sealed their place in Rock history (in the best possible manner). Overplayed or not I still love the song. Somebody to Love is similar in structure but not as fleshed out IMO. Great song nonetheless.

We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions(come on, u gotta love it...)

There are so many Queen songs that I love. What I like about this band is that they choose whatever style is going to fit best the song, from heavy metal to gospel, blues, pop, cabaret, opera or even disco. They are GREAT song writers (in opposition to bands that choose a given style and never move out of it). To name just a few:

Im not a huge Queen fan but Bohemian Rhapsody is a great piece of musical construction, and I do dig Bowie and Queen with Under Pressure, a great collaboration.

I hate Bohemian Rhapsody, I do like Don't Stop Me Now.

That live rendition of "Somebody To Love" from Queen's Live at the Bowl DVD is possibly their greatest single performance of all time. But I don't think it would have garnered as much attention as "Bohemian Rhapsody" did had they released them in reverse order. I mean, you just can't ignore BoRhap.

It's probably just me but I get the impression Bohemian Rhapsody might be slightly overrated?
