Re: Next Floyd project

Assuming that there won't be plans to work on new material anytime soon (or possibly ever), what do you think Floyd's next project should be? For an inactive band, so far they have put together two successful new releases in the Wall live cds and Echoes. I think the next thing they should do would be to put together a complilation of rarities and live material.

Songs like "Point me At the Sky," "Julia Dream," "Candy and a Currant Bun," "Scream Thy Last Scream," and "Vegetable Man" are notable Floyd songs that deserve a proper release along with live material from 1971-1977. The live versions of "Echoes," "Embryo," and songs from WYWH and Animals should make for an interesting release particarly the Animals material since that stuff is widely bootlegged as it is.

Anyway, that's just my idea. It's better to have recycled Floyd than no Floyd at all.

Re: Next Floyd project

Well, Julia Dream is on Relics. Dave won't release Scream Thy Last Scream and Vegetable Man. But live stuff would be cool. Cymbaline and Embryo would really be good. Or maybe Interstellar Overdrive with Dave playing. For thoes of you who haven't heard it, it sounds a bit different.

Re: Next Floyd project

Most of the stuff we can download at the moment should be restore and remixed. If the band (or rather the members) dont know how popular this could be, i wish there was a way of letting them know. Compliations are fine but to get the live stuff out first would be excellent.

Re: Next Floyd project

all this would be nice, but is it really commercially viable....I would love to see some good live/old stuff remastered and recycled but I feel that anything else released with the name Pink Floyd attached to it will be at the wishes of the record companies...and not so much the band themselves.

Re: Next Floyd project

It would be interesting to release unpublished takes, live stuff and unreleased songs in a double album, like the Beatles Anthology.
