| Re: Roger Waters tour!!!! Me, Eric Cartman-like: Oh yeah! Oh yeah, baby! Who the man? Who the man? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Today I got tickets to Roger's show in Oslo. And I only had to pay $110. I suspected I had to pay more than $200 to get a ticket. Now I'm really excited!

Live is better than watch on TV. When i saw the videos, i found the Roger's voice very badly. You don't repair in certain details when you are seeing the live concert. It was what it happened to me.

| Re: Roger Waters tour!!!! The lip-syncing is dissapointing for sure, but its more sad for me that the guy lost his voice. (No, I'm not a fanboy.) And you know him, he'll never own up to any voice assistance in an interview or something. The good news is that the clips they play when they turn his mic down sound like they were recorded recently (even the clips have an old-voice sound bad, but I think under studio settings he can give one or two good takes), so the new album should still turn out fine.

| Re: Roger Waters tour!!!! Here's my review from the concert at Frognerbadet: First set: In The Flesh It's always a great opener of a show, and of course it was this time too. I was standing just 10 metres from the scene, which was a good idea because of the long daylight in Norway in the summer. Roger on bass, Snowy on lead guitar. Ian Ritchie played some rhythm parts on the saxophone as well. Mother Vocals by Roger and Katie Kissoon (the mother). A brilliant performance. Dave Kilminster played a 12th string acoustic on this one which made the rythm parts stronger. Andy on bass, Snowy on lead guitar, Roger on acoustic.Set The Controls... Another highlight. Nice playing by Snowy White, and Dave Kilminster added som fills to Snowy's solo. He even played with his teeth!!! Andy on bass, Roger on acoustic. Nice saxophone from Ian Ritchie. Shine On... Compared to the ITF version, which most of you know, some parts was added and some parts was dropped. After the keyboard intro from Jon Carin, Snowy went directly to Syd's theme. Dave Kilminster also played a solo part in the beginning. His part was IMO better than what Doyle did on ITF, but It's only one man who can do the guitar parts justice on this song, I watched him in Amsterdam earlier this year. Ian Ritchie with another great saxophone solo, but I think Roger still has to work with how to perform this song. Have a Cigar I don't care much about Roger's lip syncing on some of the songs, even it was distinct here. Nice riffs played by the three guitar guys here, while Roger played the bass. Great guitar solo by Dave. Wish You Where Here David Gilmour played a guitar part in the start, but it was taped in 1975, so unfortunately he was not on the stage tonight. Dave Kilminster had some trouble with his guitar during the intro, but it affected him that much. I like Roger's version of this song. Dave Kilminster did the scat vocals in the end. The Fletcher Memorial Home I think Roger's vocals was better tonight than it was on the original recording of this song. I'm not sure if parts of it was lip-synced, but who cares. Very good guitar solo of Snowy White. Roger on acoustic on this song. Southampton Dock Roger played acoustic on this one. Ian Ritchie played an electrical wind instrument. A nice song. Perfect Sense Vocals by Roger and P.P. Arnold. One of the highlights of the first set. P.P. Arnold really shone on this song. Roger looked happy and focused and the rest of the band played this song really great. And the audience was satisfied after this song. Leaving Beirut One of the highlights of the first set. Dave played bass on this one, Andy played most of the lead parts, but Snowy played the solo. The cartoons where awesome. Some of you have seen this on youtube and other places, but it's far better to watch this live. I know someone agrees and someone disagrees with Roger's message on this song, but no matter what your opinion is, I think it's brilliant written. Sheep Many have asked, "how did they do sheep?". I will follow fixxlevy's advice and let Axe Victim answer that question, he is from Aberdeen. The song fits the live format well, but this wasn't the best vocals performance by Roger tonight. Both Roger and Andy played bass. Very interesting to see how Jon Carin switched from his lead keyboard parts to play rhythm guitar within a second. Second set (Dark Side of the Moon): Speak to Me/Breathe Vocals by Dave, Jon and Andy. Someone messed up this one. Suddenly the backing track stopped playing and Graham Broad had to count in the band to start Breathe. We didn't hear much of Jon Carin's slide guitar in the start, but it was fixed quickly. Also some problems when the song ended and "On the Run" was about to start. Roger didn't look happy and talked to Graham Broad and one of the technicians on the right side of the stage afterwards. On The Run Like in the old days. The guitar parts was pre-recorded. Jon Carin and Graham Broad was the main performers on stage. Of some reason we didn't hear much to the voices during this song. Also some problems between this song and "Time". Time/Breathe Reprise Vocals by Roger (verse) and Jon (chorus). Dave and Jon sang on Breathe Reprise. A very nice performance. Graham Broad's drum intro is awesome. Dave Kilminster seemed to have forgotten about his backing vocals in the first chorus, but repaired well with an excellent guitar solo. Andy and Roger played bass. The Great Gig in The Sky Vocals by Carol Kenyon. She did a great job, but for some reason Harry Waters played all the keyboard parts. Jon Carin played the slide guitar, but didn't play much keyboards after the intro. I think it's better when the piano and Hammond are played together. Money Vocals by Dave. I liked his vocals on this song. Andy has lost his guitar solo part which is a shame. They tried to play it nearly like the original which I find strange. Dave and Snowy played almost excactly the same notes during the first and third guitar solo. Us and Them Vocals by Jon (Roger, Andy, Dave, Katie, P.P. and Carol joined on the chorus). A good version, even if Jon's vocals could've been a little bit louder. Andy played acoustic on this one which helped lifting the song. Ian Ritchie's saxophone solo was very popular in the crowd, and when he turned around and went to the back of the stage, he lifted the saxophone up to thank for the cheer, which Roger and Snowy found really amusing. Any Colour You Like Jon Carin played an excellent keyboard part. Those who says Roger can't play bass didn't see this song in Oslo. Amazing guitar playing by Dave. Brain Damage Vocals by Roger and Jon. A very powerful live song. Jon helped out Roger with the lead vocals, which was great for the song. Those who says Roger sometimes forget to play the bass guitar because he thinks it's more important to smile to the audience, did probably see this song in Oslo. Eclipse Vocals by Roger and Jon (the rest of the gang joined in the end). A great end to a set, which had some glitches in the start. Encores Happiest Days of our lives Very smart to put this and "Brick" in the encores. The band enjoyed themselves, The audience was in heaven. Another Brick in The Wall, pt 2 Vocals by Jon and Roger (first verse) and (Katie , P.P. and Carol (second verse). A crowd favourite. Ian Ritchie played some additional bass guitar during this song. Great guitar solos by Dave and Snowy.Vera The best version I've heard of this song, but I still think it would've been better to put in some solo stuff instead of this song. Nice acoustic guitar by Andy. Bring the Boys Back Home Vocals by Roger, Jon, Andy, Dave, Katie, P.P. and Carol. The same as above. The song was a little bit extended. Comfortably Numb Vocals by Roger (the doctor) and Jon (Pink). Dave and Snowy isn't capable to perform the songs as good as Gilmour, especially Snowy seemed a little bit out of focus in the end. But it was still a nice version.

To see Roger lip-synch half of his parts and Dark Side songs sung by Jon Carin & friends? No, thanks.
