Re: Roger Waters tour!!!!

The copyright issue is nonsense. In a recent interview, Roger indicated that he wasn't even aware that the Floyd had ever played "Another Brick in the Wall" on stage without him. It seems amazing, but apparently he was quite surprised that they had ever done anything from the album other than "Comfortably Numb"/"Run Like Hell" ad infinitum. Just wait until he finds out that they incorporated half of the songs on the first part of the album into the PULSE recording of "Brick", in addition to the millions of copies floating around containing their rendition of "Hey You".

Re: Roger Waters tour!!!!

If there is any copyright issue I don't think it is his former band mates is making any trouble. In an interview last year David said something like that Roger could do anything he wanted to do with the songs from Dark Side of the Moon. (I think it was when he was talking about Roger had asked for permission to use the original Dark Side of the Moon films.) It is more likely to believe that Roger's change of record company may contain a problem.

Fleeting Glimpse is reporting there will be a DVD from this tour according to their sources, regardless Mark Fenwick's refusal.

Re: Roger Waters tour!!!!

Well, I just got back from the show here in Winnipeg. WOW, FREAKING AWESOME...now, keep in mind I have never seen a live Floyd show of any kind so I have no comparison except for the ITF DVD. Special effects were unreal. The opening video sequence where the cig smoke and hand enters to grab the glass of scotch was very cool.

Whatever parts Roger was lip synching - no one cared! It sounded awesome. Just hearing DSOTM start to finish was unbelievable. Really, a chance in a lifetime in my neck of the woods.

Odd ball comments:

John Cairns seem to have a bit of a horse voice tonight, but it pulled off his vocal parts.

Great gig in the Sky live is amazing.

The K-man (cant spell his name this late) did the vast majority of the lead guitar parts and he is very, very good. As good as Bromwell? I'll leave that up the the musicians to debate....I just know he was pretty amazing.

The opening drum sequence on Time seemed extended but it could be the atmosphere - Graham Board was dead on that one tonight.

The crowd was older but absolutely loving every second - this is typical of Winnipeg concerts as we tend to really appreciate the big acts that come our way.

K-Man did virtually the whole solo parts in Money, I did prefer the ITF version where all 3 guys had a piece of it.

Overall, just can't say enough about the opportunity to see this show live in my own City.

Re: Roger Waters tour!!!!

I have three friends who caught up with Rog in Vegas a few weeks ago. All smiles and thumbs up. Apparently the DSOTM set was just amazing. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend.

last nite 97Rock in Buffalo re-played the majority of the concert at Six Flags @ Darien Lake...Roger's voice sounded especially strong...being really hard hit by Iraq war with casualties, people from Buffalo were cheering very loud throughout Vera/Bring The Boys Home...

Re: Roger Waters tour!!!!

I dunno, but he makes a good point: tonight we will probably be listening to the last time Roger plays Dark Side, ever.

concert was awesome as expected...i'll let Botley give a more indepth review,as he is a better wordsmith than myself...

we left for concert 5 hours before if started and arrived in Toronto at exact time that FIFA World Championship for 20 Year old and Under with US team with Freddie Adu was letting out.. after the concert my son was driving in circles for about an hour in downtown Toronto(he's a bit of a bullhead)...after we passed Rogers Center for about for about the 3rd time,i asked if maybe we should ask for directions...he asked me if i would like to walk back(it's about 140 kilometers)...

GOOD NEWS: i converted another fan to Pink Floyd...
BAD NEWS:i had to agree to go to Jimmy Buffet in Toronto in September...
