The Outdoors

I know that Fulghum is a biker and Kayaker, Dr Cheese has been known to go hill climbing, and stratman has been known to do some outside shooting, but are there any other outdoorsmen here?

I am an avid hiker and angler. This summer I hope to pick up canoeing or kayaking. I just got back from a day trip to Ricketts Glen State Park located in northeastern PA. Anyway, it was a beautiful hike that featured 21 waterfalls:

Re: The Outdoors

I'm a fairly avid hiker, but I mainly stay in my local state park (Jacobsburg in eastern PA) and sometimes around the Poconos. I do mostly impromptu hiking afternoons to relax and get out of the suburbs for a while, but I'd really love to graduate to some serious planned trips. One day, for examle, I'd like to try the Appalachian Trail (at least PA's segment) with an uncle of mine who has hiked it a bunch of times.

Re: The Outdoors

I do a lot of stuff outside since I live right on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. Camping, hiking, biking, climbing, fishing, boating, boarding and whatever else I can manage to do. Colorado kicks ass.

Re: The Outdoors

I take long improvised strolls outdoors. I used to go on bike a lot but that was a long time ago. I was good at it, I remember doing 90 kilometres in just one day with a friend and a bike that wasn't very good. I want to buy a good bike now and take up biking again but I always end up buying something related with music instead.

Yep, i want to buy a good bike too, but it's not my first priority. It seems that it's very popular riding a bike right now, i never saw so many bikes around here but only on Sunday's.

Re: The Outdoors

Wow, nice pic NNJ, I like it..

Yes, I'm an avid ouitdoorsman. As you stated I am a cyclist (more roadie, but I do mountain bike quite a bit as well). I'm also an avid skier in the winter months, both Resort alpine and backcountry. I canoe, kayak (touring and whitewater), rockclimb, hike, backpack, sail, and otherwise fritter away all my spare time and money in the great outdoors.

A peek at some adventures... http://community.webshots.com/user/fulghum101

I also work in the outdoor rec industry. My fulltime paycheck comes from REI.
