The Syd Barrett Blues

You may not remember me
Or you may so aswell
But matters this does not for I have a story to tell
So you'd better listen well
Cause long gone will I be after this is said.

Very well, here I go.

I once was with 4 others
Who I thought were my friends
A 4 others you should know quite well
Unless you've been in bed
They kicked me out without a doubt
For spacing out was what I could not go without.

They've moved on quite nicely, and left me to dry
I tried it on my own, but no-one gave a listen
I tried it again. But a responce was I missin
and so I gave up, to hell with this prison.

They wrote a song about me, why? I dont know
They wished I was here, or maybe it was there?
This made me hopeful that they were sincere
I tried to rejoin them on that weary day in June.
But very soon would my high hopes be broken.

At first they did'nt recognize; they ignored me as a bum
But soon did they realize it was I who had come
I asked if they wanted me to play a part
But finished they were, or so did they claim
They thought I was crazy I could tell very well
They wanted me off, I knew right away
So fall did I, off their world I once made
Just like dominoes, while waving my hands in the air.

Alone now I live in this place of so few
People take pictures, and try to ask why
I just say leave me be, and walk right on by
Like the echoes of the past
Is the one they once knew
For im no longer playing
Cause theirs no good in trying
For Pink is truely fading
To hell
I say farewell...
