Mr. Waters certainly let his temper out of control...it was uncalled for. I don't know what I would've done, though. I think I would've stopped the concert temporarily, might've even been a bit sharp, but for different reasons. ----- FloydWaters (turning to the band for a second): Hold up a minute-- FloydWaters (now addressing audience): I am not going to continue until you stop shooting off those fireworks! For God's sake, are you TRYING to get someone killed? Are you insane, shooting those things off in the middle of a crowd?! I'm not going to have people blowing each other up at my concert, so we're not starting again until you put those things out. ----- I really don't know what I WOULD say. I just don't think I would have started being so downright malicious. I don't know if what I would've said would be very effective, either. Probably wouldn't come across strongly enough...but that's my feeling on how I'd PROBABLY react. At least it wouldn't have caused the anguish that Mr. Waters' out-of-control episode did, both to "me" or the audience...

Out of control?? The guy was fed up with all the crap going on! And what was the guy doing trying to climb up the barrier?

Perhaps this is the inspiration for the idea of a crypto-fascist "surrogate band" abusing the very audience it is playing to. Could the episode have been just "another brick in the wall" to Roger? "If I had my way, I'd have all of you SHOT!" No smoke without fire. ![]()

Pedge--what was Mr. Waters doing egging that kid on? He definitely did that, before the spitting...

Of course it's Roger's idea behind the wall. He talks about it in the book with Is There Anybody Out There. He said he had this vision of lobbing bombs into the audience, and the people being blown up were going mad with glee because they were the centre of all the action. I think the poor bloke had just had enough of people turning up for "that space cadet glow", instead of being interested in the music. After some of the reviews I've read from both Gilmour's, and Waters' recent concerts (concerning the behaviour of people in the crowd) Roger's actions were TOTALLY understandable. Maybe spitting was a little over the top but it was a spontaneaous reaction. "Just thought you'd like to know"

I haven't read that book, so I guess I was closer to the truth than I thought. ![]() And from the behaviour of a very vocal minority at the most recent concert by one of the pair mentioned, Roger's response IS understandable. But, I'd like to know how Roger might have instigated the whole affair or, failing that, why FloydWaters thinks he did. Cheers, Byron
