Dear Sir,
It has been brought to my attention that there is some disharmony in the lower ranks. Being an old soldier (Her Majesties 34th Bengal Lancers/ Foot and Mouth Division) I thought I might bring some of my military acumen to bear on the problem. We had a similar sort of thing happen in the Sudan in ‘37 or ‘38 …I forget, when one of our orderlies, fellow by the name of…..umm….anyway this damn orderly decided that he wouldn’t wash the regimental goat as he didn’t feel that it was part of his duties! This damn bolshie fellow then had the audacity to walk out on us just before the regimental dinner. I ask you? I mean it was damned inconvenient. Who would serve the soup? You just can’t have that sort of bolshie behaviour by the junior ranks, its just not cricket. Anyway, we got round the problem by giving him a damn good flogging tied to a gun carriage. However the Sergeant Major, chap from Glasgow or some foreign part, by the name of MacNab, got a bit carried away and broke the orderlies arms and legs. Anyway we gave the orderly some special chocolate that had been sent out in the despatch box, and all ended well. Made serving the soup damn messy, but he got there in the end. Anyway, I’m suggesting that you give these moderator Johnnies a damn good thrashing (tied to a gun carriage preferably) and get them back in line for inspection.

Yours faithfully

Col. Upshott Baggley (retired) VC; DSO (and bar)

Thanks for the moderator work, Cheesus. Your efforts might not have been in vain. Time will tell.

Wow, 2 mods leaving about a week or two apart. If this continues, well be mod-less by the summer.

Wow, in my many incarnations on this site I have seen many faces of cheese from witty to scalding. I always respected him though no matter the situation or my subsequent fate. Shine On Cheese.

Cheeseb Retirerment fund

Too all members and non members of this exclusive network I think we should all pool together and start a Retirement fund for our embattled mods who after many years of fine service for the rest of us lout's have decided to go out to the pasture for the rest of their years. To start I say we all empty our pockets and start the fund with our change.(Keep the Pennys but please add the lint from your pocket bottoms)

I go to New York for a weekend and this is what I come home to!

Please nominate me for moderation. I'll be sure not to excercise liberal amounts of authority, nor conserve my sources of power...perfectly moderate!

Ordaining you a mod, Joey, would be like making "Bubba" a sorority mother.
