I don't think that was the case for the last 2 appointed, but it's okay because they deserved it.

Yeah, that's true, they were appointed, but I'm pretty the rest were elected.

It's not as much fun as it looks, though.
Dear Sir

It's true, I do have an intrepid bearing, which I toss in the air on ceremonial occasions, such as Pink Floyd reunion concerts. Granted it hasn't been thrown about much of late...but you have to make the most of these things when you can. I certainly have a strong sense of justice, having watched numerous episodes of Perry Mason and the Lone Ranger as a young lad. My code of dress is adopted from Columbo, according to Mrs E, so there's another link to justice. As an old cricketer, who has now left the crease*, I have a good sense of fair play, and I con honestly say that I have never flogged my gamekeeper unless he has really deserved it. As for the devilishly handsome bit, well that goes without saying. When I was out in India , in '42...or '24...I never can remember, I used to cut quite a dash in the Mess and at the regimental balls, and I received many a glance from admiring memsahibs....even after I had buttoned up my flies. However I do recall many of the NCO's would often say the balls were never the same without me! As for it ( modding) not being any fun...I would say to them "Uday Banhu", which is an old Indian dialect, and means "more tea vicar"....so there you have it.

* for the benefit of non cricketing countries such as...France ( damned froggies)....'leaving the crease' means to have left the crease..I hope that clears it up....if not see Matron.

yours faithfully

OK, sometimes it has its moments.

Who am I kidding? It's like being John Goodman in Arachnophobia, at least as far as that particular tea party goes.

Now that fixxter has his hog, and - heaven help us all - licensed to drive it, perhaps he will roar over to your fair burgh someday to meet Ed and Mrs Ed.

Keep us posted.

Re: Welcome Axe Victim to the APFFN Mod team!

Unfortunately I didn't pass my first test a few weeks ago, so am resitting this Friday. Until then, everyone on the planet (including the Eduardo family) are safe from my petrol driven ministrations.

Re: Welcome Axe Victim to the APFFN Mod team!

I see. What was it you did wrong? The safe pull over to the side, not enough mirror observation, going too fast, going too slowly, ran over an old lady? It must have been bad.

Still, I am sure you'll ace it second time round. Just concentrate, dammit! Now you're a hogmeister, you have a reputation to uphold.

Re: Welcome Axe Victim to the APFFN Mod team!

I made a van that was going too fast round a roundabout brake very slightly. Technically, I interfered with his drive and that was my one major fault during it. I had 3 minors (I don't need any smartassed 'Gary Glitter' styled comments, thanks Eddy!) when I'm allowed 15. Truth be told, I had a fucking demon cough/cold and had only had 2 hours sleep, so I wasn't at my best. This one'll be much better (hopefully).

Then we can have that race, right?
