That is considered a mistake?

Here, that would be nothing, in fact, it would be considered his problem for not paying attention to the traffic in front of him (if I understand you correctly). Though the one problem with the bike is the fact that no matter how cautious you are, if the other driver(s ) **** up, you are the one to die, not the moron in an oldsmobile.

Re: Welcome Axe Victim to the APFFN Mod team!

In a roundabout here, the person entering must give way to those already within.

According to the UK Highway Code it is improper for any vehicle to cause another to change speed or direction; constituting an unsafe obstruction or hazard.

So, joining a roundabout and causing a vehicle already there to change speed, even if that vehicle appears to be speeding, is a big no-no.

You are correct, however, when you say that any lack of attention on the part of other road users (not just motorists) could spell doom and a quick end for the biker, no matter how careful that biker.

You forgot to add that the Highway Code does not need to be observed by the following people.

Taxi drivers ( I OWN the f**king the road)
Females ( can't you see Im using the mirror to fix my make up)
Bus drivers (I can pull out when I like! Its a public service.)
Octogenarians ( Ive been driving since 1923..my first car was a Wolsley so dont tell me I can't drive like that)
Chavs( I can't see over the steering wheel in my Burberry cap)
Police ( we're a law unto our selves )

You forgot the bus driver's mantra: "Go on, there's plenty of space. You can get a bus through there."
