Re: "On An Island"

Ugh, why does this shit always have to turn into a god damn competition? If you don't like it, fine, don't like it, stop trolling your dislike for both Gilmour and Waters.

I'm looking forward to Gilmour's album and I'm looking forward to Water's next album. I'm not going to prevent listening to the others work because I prefer the other guy. They've both got their strengths and downfalls.

You seem to have a very loose definition of trolling.

I have my moments, especially at times like these. Can't seem to find the inspiration, it comes naturally.

Re: "On An Island"

Here's the cover for the album, courtesy of Brain Damage where you can find other info and the tracklist as well.

The cover seems mediocre, to say the least. IMO, that is. And doesn't seem Storm's work either. What do you think?

Re: "On An Island"

I liked the album cover a lot. There's a lot happening there. A subtle but noticable attempt to distance himself from the 'big statement' Pink Floyd covers...but tasteful, moody and interesting.

The press release has also created a LOT of anticipation for me. Can't bloody wait to hear the album...it sounds like there is some great music on it.

No, they couldn't find a way to relate it to the theme of the album...

Re: "On An Island"

I like the cover artwork and I don't see why it has to be Storm-Thorgerson related. We mustn't forget that this is a David Gilmour album not a Pink Floyd one.

Having said that, I like the fact that Rick Wright is there in a couple of songs playing the Hammond organ and singing. Though this is going to be a David Gilmour album, the contributions that Rick made to TDB were fairly good and a lot of vocal high points in Pink Floyd's back catalogue are David and Rick's voices singing together. And, apart from this, I love how Rick plays the Hammond organ, quite tasty.

Re: "On An Island"

All you Europeans are lucky because it appears that there will be limited edition 2-cd sets of "On An Island" in Europe, but not in the US...

Maybe because Storm did the artwork for EVERY previous Gilmour solo project - including his recent live DVD in 2002?
