Yes, they were married in July 1994.

Re: "On An Island"

Another question could be: do you expect Bob Dylan to make a great guitar solo in one of his records? So, why should we expect great lyrics when we listen to a David Gilmour album?

Ok, what did Hunter play? Maybe Polly is an official member of Dave's band! Just so you know, I am not getting pissy. I enjoy a civil enchange of opinions. As I have expressed I am not fond of the dead, or Robert Hunter. I consider him about as much an official member of the Dead as I consider Guy Pratt an official member of Floyd. Does that make sense? Prolly not... Either way, I enjoy the lyrics to ALL of TDB. I understand that some of the lyrics on AMLOR were not as great, but there are still some great lyrics on that one as well. Sorrow, On the Turning Away, and others... I like the lyrics to On An Island.... As I said, it totally reminds me of visiting my childhood neighborhood now that I am 24 and reflecting on all the great times I had...

You don't need to even bother with him Jeff, he's been banned.

I've also noticed the "banned" title a couple of days ago but then I realized he kept on posting anyway so maybe it's just a clever title...

Yes it's true. He still posting. It's a clever title, as Lily said, or a error since the last upgrade made by Paulo.

Hunter plays guitar not on stage with the band, but he is a musician and has known Garcia all his life. And to the best of my knowledge Dave has no band, he is too old for that, he needs no practice, hes Dave friggin Gimour. On the Turning Away I think is Daves best song post Waters, really a great tune with some outstanding axe work. And Im only 20 but I can hear ya with reminising about the past, its freaky when you think about it. I think Roger said it best, "And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"

I didnt know Dave and Polly were married, my apologies to them. But still what was one of the worst things to happen to John Lennon? Making music with his wife Yoko Ono, didnt get him anywhere, and by the same token I personally dont want to hear Gilmour/Sampson any more thatn I wanted to hear Lennon/Ono

Re: "On An Island"

Yes,at least remove that "banned" subtitle so that when T is officially banned we'll know for sure !!! ANyway lets get on with the music that sounds great as long as BDG is playing and yes we don't expect Roger to play a great guitar solo so leave BDG alone and let him turn the night on.

I have no plans plans on getting banned, and I see no reason why I should. Although I must say that this site's mod's are some of the fastest on that button of all the forums I frequent. But thats part of the mystery, I could be banned, and I could not be banned. I can stop posting for a month and people will rejoice, we finally got rid of that dirty Deadhead and then, BAM right in the kisser, Im back again. You'll have to deal with it, it isnt changing mate
