I have my doubts that Rog would be performing at Glastonbury. He would never stoop that low to be performing alongside other bands. They're not good enough to be performing with a musical genius like him.

I also doubt it. Rog is too busy writing his opera, when he's not touring that is.

Well Roger will have completed his UK 2002 dates at Wembley Arena the 27th of June, and Glasto'2002 runs from the 28th to 30th so he won't be a million miles away.

Very much in the neighbourhood, but still way too much to hope for.

(BTW: d'you think I'm not staying up-to-date with Glasto' tickets, just in case? You'd be v. wrong )

Fixated Floydian,
Byron

Hello fellow floydies,
Looks like Waters is confirmed to play glastonbury 2002, headlining the pyramid stage on Sunday night. What a turn up!

Tickets normally go on sale early April, price expected to be around £100 and glasto is a 'no day-tickets for lightweights' festival, ok

cya there

Greetings and well-met welcome, kerplunk.

If untrue, this may be the reddest of red Pink Floyd herrings since, erp, Public Loo's Enigma.

But it seems everywhere I search Pink Floyd/Live Music-related that has ANY information on Glastonbury 2002, Roger's appearance there as you suggest is 'confirmed'. :???:

"...
Eavis says "hundreds or thousands" of calls had been received by this afternoon on behalf of artists wishing to perform at this year's event. Rod Stewart and ROGER WATERS are among the early confirmations.
..." - Lars Brandle for Billboard.com

Rod Stewart? I face the prospect of sitting through Rod for Roger?

Hope it's not true, in a way.

Then again...

Thanks for the welcome Byron,

Not sure I understand you, why do you hope news of his appearance at glastonbury isn't true? Is it because he'll just be one of many acts?

I got the news here btw www.intheflesh2002.com

The prospect of having to sit through Rod Stewart, if Roger DOES appear, fills me with nothing but dread.

Simple really.

Ahhh gotcha...well, as any seasoned glasto goer will tell you (over and over usually!) there's always loads of fabulous things cracking off at the same time, so you don't have to sit through acts that don't tickle your fancy - you just go and find something else that does.

Having said that, you are by no means alone in your gnashing of teeth having heard that Rod Stewart is to appear!

LATEST UPDATE!

More sobering information regarding Roger's or PF's rumoured appearance this year on the Glastonbury 2002 site under "Latest News":
http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/2002/whatson.html

"No bands have yet been confirmed for the 2002 festival. Rumours that Pink Floyd will be playing are just that, rumours!

As soon as bands start to be confirmed it will appear on these pages. However that is still likely to be months away."

So now we just wait and see...and hope.

BTW, there are some lovely pics of Roger at http://intheflesh2002.com/new%20pics1.htm

And, although, it's claimed on that site - http://intheflesh2002.com/glastonews.htm - that Roger is confirmed to appear at the festival on 30th June, until the Glasto'2002 site says differently, I'll remain skeptical.

Shine on!
Byron

p.s. Am taking a tiny break from all this wonderment to concentrate on more pressing matters in my Real World. Best wishes and fondest regards to all my brothers and sisters in PF.

p.p.s. Check out that 999!
