The Greatest Syd Barrett Composition (1967)

My personal favorite Syd Barrett-era Floyd song is the original long version of "Interstellar Overdrive" found on the CD 'In London: 1966-67.'
My second favorite is "Candy and a currant Bun."

Those were both composed in 1966... and most of Syd's songs released later in his career were written in 1967 so we may as well call this "The Greatest Pink Floyd song by Syd".

My favourite is "Astonomy Domine."

See Emily Play. It sounds great. But anything he did off the first album does.

I think that Astronomy Domine is still a great piece of music, original and innovative, obviously with an important contribution by Roger, Rick and Nick. I'd say it is Syd's best song.

Interstellar Overdrive...What a great psychedelic song! With all those weird sounds. Astronomy domine is pretty good too and also Arnold Layne, See Emily Play, Bike, Jugband blues, etc. I think that Syd's songs before Pink Floyd were great too.

I'm a big fan of Scream Thy Last Scream, and See Emily Play.

But if ya wanna go into true Barrett move away from him and floyd and see what he does on his own, now that truly is the great syd barrett at work Ie. Octopus, Dark Globe, Dominoes, and Terrapin now those are great

I cant decide between Bike and Arnold Layne. Both great Barrett songs.

"See Emily Play" barely beats out "Arnold Layne" in my opinion.
