Funeral must be the best new rock album i've heard in many years, yees it is really amazing! Any other Arcade Fire-fans here? I think they are making their next album at this very moment, so im really exited |

| Re: The Arcade Fire The Arcade Fire are one of my favorite new bands. I've mentioned them several times on here before. I saw them in concert awhile back and it was amazing..unfortunately I hadn't listened to the record so I didn't know the songs but I remember being blown away. One of the most emotionally powerful records I've probably ever heard. Great stuff. |

| Re: The Arcade Fire Jesus Christ. Pretty Good? They're outrageoulsy good. Almost orgasmically good. Yeah, they're really good. The album, "Funeral" deserves to stand next to Dark Side, Ok Computer, etc. |

| Re: The Arcade Fire Definitely a great band, and definitely could compare to OK Computer...but I don't think FUNERAL could really compare to DARK SIDE. They do have potential to create great material though. |

Pink Floyd is amazing, but not insurpassable. Funeral is not better than dark side but it is on the same level of epic genius. It's a completely different type of music, as is OK Computer, but it is just as innovative and brilliant. |

| Re: The Arcade Fire Yeah, you're right, you can't really compare. But it's a damn good album. It's one of the few albums that actually moves me places....like....gah....it takes control. I love every single song, I love yelling the words to Crown of Love. "The PAAAINs of LOOVE, wellll they keep groooowiing in my Heeearrt....." Gah, I love that album. And the deut with David Bowie on "Wake Up" was epic (in a popular live performance). And it should be stressed how NEW it is. I hadn't heard anything like it before....obviously Talking Heads and David Bowie are strong influences, but the Arcade Fire is something completely new. The vocalist is so emotional, but never overly dramatic. It's always perfect. I get the feeling that to make such crazy/wild/great/outrageous/wonderful music, these people must be slightly insane. The end of "Crown of Love" is an example of the albums brilliant crazyness....how does that happen? It suddenly morphs. It's so crazy/brilliant. Last edited by DavidAV; 04-04-2006 at 05:11 PM. |

Three of their close family members died during the making of the record (hence the title). |

| Re: The Arcade Fire Hopefully some tragic things are happening to them now, so that they can produce another great album. Who knows, maybe if they're happy they can produce an album that's just as great but less down? That might be nice. |
