Re: Tell Us About Your Band

Well, as I have already said I'm finally in a band again! I was about to sell my drumkit when I saw an ad looking for a drummer and having "Pink Floyd" as the first band in their influences list (it wasn't a very long list though: "Pink Floyd, Björk, Dead Can Dance"). You know the rest...

We have recorded some rehearsals and you can listen to some snippets of them here:

http://www.eterteatre.com/Bhangeerah...rahMaqueta.htm

I play drums, Spanish guitar (solo in "Luna" and arpeggio in "A Hope of Dream") percussion in "Hoy", electric guitar in "With You"... I have a lot of fun.

We've got two new songs that aren't posted yet and we keep writing more material. We're just waiting for our first concerts!

My husband has a band called Sweet leaf. They had just one track up on the myspace but the sound quality is awful, it isnt even and the guitar is a whisper instead of the focul point, thanks to a tweeny who recorded it on her phone.

Re: Tell Us About Your Band

Well, the bills get paid by playing bass in a Sixties cover band. We average about 10 shows a month, and have played everywhere from Salt Lake City to Wash.D.C. It's fun and I get to play lots of cool basses.
But MY "band" is called Shaped Sound, and I play all the instruments and sing all vocals. I have a studio in my home in the Texas countryside. My main instruments in the studio are:
Rickenbacker 4001CS
Fender Precision
Jay Turser Telecaster
Rickenbacker 340

I also have a drumkit and a couple keyboards.

Re: Tell Us About Your Band

Well, my band has changed a bit its direction lately. We started being three and then we added a cello player a year and a half ago. We recorded five songs (you can listen to them if you click on the Band link) and made a couple of concerts but, lately, there wasn't much going on. We had some problems to find days in which the four of us were available to rehearse and also to find gigs (it is getting damm impossible to play live around here). So we have just decided to continue as a three-piece unit with an additional member (the cello player) who may or may not be in our concerts (she also plays in orchestras so she will not always be available). We have also decided that we may have more chances of playing live if we play covers and some of our songs unplugged so we can go to small bars where there is no stage.

Today we have done our first acoustic covers rehearsal and, obviously, the first song we have rehearsed is "Wish You Were Here"

I have also bought a keyboard this Christmas!!! It looks like this: keyboard. So now I'm practicing scales and I'm trying to learn to play "Amazing" by Aersomith.

Re: Tell Us About Your Band

I'm the founder member of 4 bands, which I'm in simultaneously:- CRM 114, Kissyfoot, Steamprog and The Gravamen. I write all the material, which my wife Sharon and I then arrange and record. I also release solo music under the name 'Simon J. Mills'. All bands are on MySpace and Reverbnation. The links are all in the 'W.T.T.M' section.
