| Re: On This Day Quote:
Golf, not being a competition of strength, reflexes, speed or endurance is more dependent upon skill, experience and especially confidence. Even a 60-year-old can get "in the groove" and re-kindle his confidence and run a hot streak, as we're seeing with Tom. What usually happens to older golfers is they realize how goddamned hard it is to putt and end up with an chronic case of the yips. |

| Re: On This Day Actually, "Clem" is one of the characters portrayed by the late comedian, Red Skelton. Likely unknown outside of the US, judging by your response, and probably for good reason. |

| Re: On This Day A final off-topic comment about Watson. What a heartbreaking finish. After leading the whole way, he bogeyed the final hole to fall into a tie, and become completely unravelled in a 4-hole playoff. Damn. |

| Re: On This Day I was rootin for Watson ( as were most of the crowd) and I was disappointed that he never made it. However Cink was a worthy champion and pulled it out of the bag just when it counted. Sorry to go off topic Tony, once I start yakkin about golf I could drone on for ever. |

| Re: On This Day July 20, 1944 Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg plants a bomb under Hitler's conference room maptable at the Wolfschantz. July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong plants first human foot on the Moon...the crew become the first to actually see "The Dark Side of the Moon". At least, the side we never get to see.
