No mention from Tony , that on this day, we Scots celebrate Burns night. In commemoration of the great Rabbie Burns ( our national bards birthday in 1759) much whisky will be drank, haggis will be eaten, men in kilts will lurch about and the poetry of the great man will be recited.

The only times I have worn the kilt, was when I was twice called upon to be best man at a wedding. On both occasions I was in full highland dress and looked like a latter day Rob Roy, or someone who was advertising shortbread (that's a Scottish cookie which usually comes in a tartan tin with some chap in a kilt looking wistfully over the highland glens as a stag romps in the background..I digress). As for the bagpipes, ( not bagpipe!) sadly it takes quite a lot of skill to master, and a lot of wind. I never learned to play them. I have always thought that people like politicians and lawyers would make great pipers!
All evidence of me in a kilt are safely tucked away in the family album and would never be featured on these pages.
