American Idol?

Who is your favorite Idol? If you watch the show

I've never watched it (being in Romania and all). Is it that good that it deserves two threads?

I watch it occasionally only because Elliott Yamin is from here in Richmond. I go to school like 2 or 3 blaocks from his house, so I guess he's me favorite because of that.

although i have seen only radom parts of it, i have to agree.
here in Latvia we have our own "idol". it sucks.

I only watch it when they show the people who can't sing and make fools of themselves.

I know a girl who'll be trying out for canadian idol. If she's in, I'll probably watch the show then.

What is this show about? Is it about turning a normal person into a singer?

If this is the case there is a certain TV programme in Spain called "Operación Triunfo" which totally massacred the already dying musical scene in Spain. Yes, the situation is that bad. You wouldn't believe the tons of utter crap that get aired here.

The show is about inviting the entire United States to try out to be the next Britney Spears. They hold tryouts for the first few weeks of the season and this one guy named Simon makes fun of people and makes them cry. Then, the people who pass the audtion go on the show, and the television people put them in trendy clothes and cover them with makeup (because you have to look like a Barbie doll to be a decent singer I guess)...like 20 of them or something, and they all try out again. The people get voted off the show by the American television audience (im from American, but sorry, most of us are idiots) one by one and then the same guy makes them cry. Then the person who is left gets to be the new American Idol. Basically that means they put out like 10 terrible albums and everyone buy it cause the TV said so. Arent you glad you live in Spain?

No I'm not. It's EXACTLY the same thing here. The only different thing is that here they look both for new "Britney Spears" and also for "Ricky Martins" since we are "latinos" and all that. A guy named "David Bisbal" is our musical antichrist who sells tons of records just because his hair is so curly.

the best part is the auditions in the beginning there r soo many horrible singers and they are like 'all my family say im wonderful" junk like dat and then they start to cry neway it is fun to see those ppl make fools of themselves after that it is just annoying

William Hung was the only good thing about American Idol.
