I can't seem to find the origin of the song Waters sings on the couch at the beginning of his In the Flesh DVD.

Dude, listen to "San Tropez": it almost sounds like a verse they edited out from Meddle. Right before Rick's piano solo starts, you hear Roger inhale deeply - then it gets cut off.

But that's just my personal conjecture. There's no "if you're alone, I'll come ho-ho-home" refrain, so he's probably just goofing off and improvising.

I dont know... I am still suspicious... just when you see his face concentrate on remembering the words. Maybe its half improv, half an actual song.

San Tropez? Actually you do have me thinking there... but I just can't see those lyrics on the couch In The Flesh DVD being part of San Tropez.

The words "Don't knock the good ship rock n roll" is very 50's, early rock and roll. Little Richard, Haley and the Comets... all used reference to the 'good ship' and 'knockin.'

Maybe it is just Waters screwing around on the couch... BUT I want to know for certain.
I know the entire In The Flesh tour really brought out the old Waters that was somehow smothered with Pink Floyd success and the later wars. I find it interesting to see and compare old pre-DSOTM video of him and video now. He seems to be enjoying himself, on and off the stage. And maybe this little ditty on the couch is nothing more than him toying with us while the camera was rolling. Much like his backward messages on The Wall and Amused to Death.

It's a song Nick wrote for "The Final Cut", but he refused to record it when Roger said no to a 15 minute drum solo between the two verses.
