Dave is the best music composer of all time and we all know it. Roger can't do anything good except for writing lyrics. About animals, Dave said that he(David Gilmour) was the musical force in animals, and if dave said it I believe it. The reason TFC does not sound very floydian is because David Gilmour was the Pink Floyd Sound and without him it's not gonna sound very floydian.

I totally agree with you. I love Roger and think he's brilliant, but he's not a good instrumentalist at all. All the songs he writes are incredibly simplistic and many rely heavily on the VCS3. If he were a good bassist, maybe he could actually keep up with David.

I'm not saying that david isn't gifted musically, but lets not forget Mr. Wright. He came up with some really good musical moments as well. Not to mention the PING.

| Yeah, DON'T make the mistake of forgetting Mr. Wright...it is he who was actually MISSING from The Final Cut. And I also think it is why I felt only coldness when I heard the studio version of "Comfortably Numb". I'm not sure if even HE realises how much he meant (and means) to that band. It is good of you to remember, whatisittoburn. Thank you. (BTW--is your name a song title? I don't recognise it.) _________________ "But now the day has broken, can see in better ways, A path leading to the light, a hope that never fades. | This may be a bit off topic but we are talking about rich I'll go ahead. So, did rog give him the boot while they were working on the wall? But he did do the tour right? |

Mr. Wright lost his full-member status during The Wall. I believe Mr. Waters' ultimatum was this: Either renounce his status or he would scrap The Wall. And not only that, but after that tour--which he played on salary--he had to leave. Mr. Wright returned during the production of AMLoR, but too late to contribute heavily to it. On the DSoT tour, he was TECHNICALLY still a salaried player, because he had come too late to invest in the tour...but with TDB he regained his full-member status. Hope that answers your question! --FloydWaters a.k.a. FloydWright in the chat room

Syd. After all, in some way, he is the basis for most Floyd songs/albums. Is he not?

Uh, no, not really. Only a few of them. Cheers, Mark

OK, Floyd was created because of the inspirations of Syd. Actually, they were the best when they were really together. But I must admit that Roger was in the middle point most of the time... So, that's it. But it's a metter of taste I think.
