At that point i dont even think he was in a band, or even changed his name from george to roger yet. Someone here can probably clear this up.

Perhaps he visited family, but other than that I doubt it.

Then again, I believe he has been spotted in the form of a tortilla chip in southern Texas.

Re: Information

It's a well known fact.
Roger was 20 at that time, he was in the States with John Lennon for holidays and the two of them used to play the bars and pubs, just to have fun and make money. John wearing fake huge moustaches obviously, otherwise he would have been recognised: mind you, the first official visit of the Beatles in the USA happened just the following year! Anyway during that summer they famously written together Can't Buy Me Love and A Hard Day's Night. Roger obviously didn't get any credit officially, even if he also played bass on the same songs, because Paul apparently couldn't handle those pretty complicated parts. The most unforgettable performance of that summer was probably the one at the Ol' Bastard John's Saloon in Cleveland, where they performed with Jimi Hendrix. The fact years later inspired the song Not Now John ("where's the fucking bar John?") This is largely reported on Nick Mason's book Inside Out, along with other tasty details on that particular journey of Rog. A must buy.

Re: Information

That thing actually started the whole 'Paul is dead' rumor.

Re: Information

Pink Floyd played Cleveland with Waters in their midst on 6 November 1971 and 25 June 1977. Roger played solo concerts there on 20 March 1985 and 27 July 1999.
