APFFN meetups

I've been thinking about hosting or at least organizing a large meeting of folks from this website in the coming months. Would anybody be interested? It'd probably take place here in Toronto, but we could negotiate a more central location if enough people were willing to make the trek. There are plenty of great things to see and do here, it's relatively accessible to out-of-towners, and a number of folks live pretty nearby as it is.

I suppose we could make a point of getting a live band together for entertainment, but there are plenty of awesome musicians on the site and informal jamming would likely be a better idea.

I've always fancied seeing Toronto, but it might be a bit far for some of us in Europe to travel. How about having two venues? One in Canada and one in Amsterdam. We could link the two like they did at Live Aid. Everybody could crash at Lars place!

Hum... Amsterdam! I wish to go to Amsterdam since some years!

Rock in Rio in Lisbon 2006, anybody interested?

Re: APFFN meetups

I'd love to go to Toronto and I'm sure as hell going there once. But right now it's sort of impossible for me to travel that far. Amsterdam seems like the best option. An APFFN meeting in the Pink Floyd coffeeshop!

Yay. I'm up for it, if it is here in Toronto. That means no travelling for me, hehe.

You shouldn't make fun of Dr. Cheese's age, that's not nice.

Re: APFFN meetups

Paulo mentioned to me a while ago that he might be coming to The Netherlands. Maybe another good reason to do it in Amsterdam, it would be great if he could be there also.

Re: APFFN meetups

As much as I'd love to be able to do a Toronto meet up I'm afraid its out of the question at the moment. I'd struggle to afford the Amsterdam one right now to be truthful, but if it materialised I might be able to stretch my finances that far.

Re: APFFN meetups

Given a perfect world, I'd suggest Tamarindo, in Costa Rica... Great beaches, lovely people, cheap beer, great food.

But Europe or Canada will do.
