Re: Remember a day...

How old were you when you first heard Pink Floyd? What songs were playing, and how did hearing the greatest band ever effect you and your lifestyle? My first song was "welcome to the machine". My sister let me hear it b'cus she said 'this reminds me of you, the guitar and not-liking-school parts mostly'. Ever since then, I've been dedicated to the fullest to the Floyd. How about you?

Re: Remember a day...

Pink Floyd has been in the house for awhile. Occasionally, Dark Side or Division Bell would be played. I liked it, but didn't really get into. Only in the last year, have I really gotten into Pink Floyd.

mine was obviously SOYCD (Delicate Sound... live version) back in 1989, I still prefet this version to the original. I was 14 then and the LP made a huge impression on me.

Re: Remember a day...

Also, when I watched The Wall movie a year ago, during Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2, I had the faint memory of seeing this a long time ago.

Re: Remember a day...

yes, and my memories about The Wall movie are also very early. I remember skiping the school, creeping into my sis flat while she was at work (she had VHR at that time and I hadn't) and watching the movie while my schoolmates were at lessons Good pupil I was ...

As far as I remember I was 12 and the song was Young Lust or Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2. Several years later I really started getting into it, and today am the biggest Pink Floyd fan on the block

Re: Remember a day...

ABITW is a song i have recognised since i was very little. But Wish was the album that clicked with me initially. I heard it on vinyl while overseas (cause PF was the only decent thing my grandparents had) and i fell in love with it. 30 or so albums later...the rest is history...

Re: Remember a day...

I don't know exactly, maybe I was 12 when I first saw Wall - the movie. I remember I didn't like it too much, but there was a part in it which remained in my brain, namely when some pupils were marching into a meat mincer. Then 3 years after it, I listened to the Wall once again and I realized, it was something perfect. And then I tried to get more and more PF-songs and I became a very big fan - but unfortunately, I haven't got all of their records so far. But I am to get them!

Re: Remember a day...

I was 10, when at home of a neighbour i saw The Wall and asked "is it any good?", he just said "listen", 'In the flesh?' was enough to let me stunned thinking "maybe i've found something better than 'Harvest' of Neil Young and that compilation of Creedence Clearwater Revival".
I spent my childhood listening them, Oldfield, Eric Burdon with Animals and some classical, but i never spent a moment for those 2 albums in the collection of my father: 'The dark side of the moon' and 'Masters of rock' (a compilation of first works of PF, with 'See Emily play' and 'Arnold Layne' too)... that's sad, i could have known PF since i was 4 but i was to lazy to listen something different.
