Re: Last Movie Thread

I saw Velvet Goldmine recently. I wasn't expecting much, but I was blown (no pun) away. Ewan MacGregor is pretty good in it.

Also, a couple of Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music) tunes are in the movie. Its kinda wierd that Phil, and the guy who reportedly opposed the movie, David Bowie, were on stage together just over a month ago.

I saw "CLUB 54" or something like the same title . Mike Myers played non coic role of a club owner who hires a young man. After the beautiful people get old and an old lady dies of drugs od,while Salma Hayek gets to become all most famous singer. As the old person Mike has acted good and the sadness that he feels to be back at the joint he built.
This movie said its based on a true story.

Re: Last Movie Thread

Hope The Deadman's Chest turns out to be as good as the prequel.
BTW , isn't this the 3 rd part , the first was " CutThroat Island" with Gina Davis. I am not sure but I did hear it on E!Online long time back when Pirates was to be released that its a sequel to Cutthroat Island.

Watched Solaris last night. Tried to anyways. I got through most of it, but it's so slow moving, and I was so tired. So, maybe I'll give it another go tonight.

Past couple of weeks I've watched American Beauty, Narc, The Squid and the Whale. Probably a couple of others, but I can't think of them right now. It's too early and I haven't had my coffee yet.

Last night I discovered the best remedy for Insomnia.
Watch the movie of John Travolta with strange makeup in "Battlefield Earth."

Last night I simply decided to relax.
So I watched Disney`s Mulan .
Cheesy, yet satisfying.

I'm not sure, but I'll look into it. I don't think it was though since the movie was based off of the Disneyland ride.

I agree with Simon, I love that movie. I love everything Johnny Depp is in.

Last night I watched most of Munich but I had to shut it off to catch some Roseanne reruns.

You should give it another shot. It's pretty good, although I haven't seen the original, which is better according to a lot of people.
