Hello, welcome to the forum.
The cover represents a person being consumed by the pressures of success and fame.

so they kinda killed two birds with one stone here right? i mean, one concept of a syd barret tribute and another concept is being consumed by the record industry, wich is what happened to syd.

According to Andy Mabbett, four pictures with a burning man, a person in a desert, a shawl in a wind and a diver represent one of four elements (a fire, an earth, an air and a water) in a combination with a person who "doesn`t assist at". The burning man apparently is absent `cause he doesn`t feel hot. The character in a desert doesn`t have face and hands. Woman`s figure is hidden behind the shawl, and the diver gets into the water without splashes.

"one concept of a syd barret tribute and another concept is being consumed by the record industry, wich is what happened to syd."

So Syd Barret was done in by the greedy record companies? Funny, I thought he did HIMSELF in with all that LSD he took. At least that's what the other band members have been claiming in over two decades of interviews. Time to take off your rose...uhh, I mean pink colored spectacles, my friend. Syd Barret = Acid Casualty.

ummm....i dont think anyone quite said that. it was part of the pressure that led him to become an "acid casualty".

"You were caught on the crossfire
Of childhood and stardom,"

too many things all happening at the same time to poor 19/20 year old syd. the fame, the music, the drugs, his lifestyle, all of it having an impact. shine on.

"...being consumed by the record industry, which is what happened to Syd."
Well, I beg to differ. The above quote clearly appears to illustrate it's authors contention that Barret was a victim of the record industry. If so, then why not also Mason, Wright, Gilmour and Waters? Hint: because they didn't gulp down the acid like it was a daily vitamin pill, that's why.

"Nice attitude buddy. Get off your high horse."

What high horse is that?

Just calling them the way I see 'em
