I used to think "Money" was a crap song, before I knew anything about PF. Actually, now that I've learned (and mostly forgotten) practically everything about them, I still do.

I used to think that Roger Waters sang all the songs!

Re: Things you did when you didn't know Floyd very well

First, I thought Pink Floyd was a single man. Later, i used to think they were a heavy metal band and at last, my father gave me a "Wish you were here" CD and said "Listen to this" and...WOW!!! that's music!!

even now Money would NOT be in my top 20 PF songs...what I noticed about PF way back when is that you could understand what roger/dave were singing without going to linaer notes...

Re: Things you did when you didn't know Floyd very well

Alright, I'm posting in a dead thread, but I'm bored, and I have a kind of good thing I used to think.

So, anyway, I use to get Rick and Roger messed up, which is pretty sad, and that's the only one I can think of.

Re: Things you did when you didn't know Floyd very well

I knew more about the band through reading than I did the music.

This was a time where pocket money was scarse and our country still delt in pounds. I never did bother to get the full collection of albums because my husband has all of them right up until Roger left....so I just dig out his and he digs out my other stuff. I am also aware this makes me sound 50 yrs old.

I used to mistake fat '80s Gilmour for Meatloaf.

Hang on, Bri...how old were you when ABITW II came out?

I'm comparing relative ages here. Were you a late bloomer, an older senior or did you flunk a grade?

When I didn't know Floyd very well I watched Dark side of the Moon and the Wizard of Oz and said "uh...."
