Chat Room

today i recieved a PM sayin i got my second and last warning before being banned... this time they argued that APFFN isn't a chat room, between others... so i thought that it would be great if they could add a Chat Room here in APFFN.
It would stop spamming and Threads going overposted and getting way too off-topic posts and also prevent mods from getting annoyed.
And it would be open theme and you could talk about everything you like without being warned or excluded.

What d'ya think?

It's been done before. There was discussion on the subject, undoubtedly traceable via the Search function, but it did not last.

Personally, I think AIM and MSN have made the concept obsolete.

Really. If people here are compelled to bore each other with offtopic drivel, just use one of the several available IM services and spare the rest of us, thank you.

This site's earlier version as "The Great Gig in the Web" did indeed have a chat room feature, but it was so early (relatively) in this site's history that all Pink Floyd related subjects had not been dicussed, let alone done to death, it was not used very much ...at least, apparently, not the few times I looked in.

It's passing was flagged up by Paulo at the time, if memory serves, but there was no great objection heard over it from the burgeoning membership.

I actually thought all the spam was allowed. Cause its just spam...
I wonder how many damn threads that have stayed ontopic? Its always some stupid wordgame or whatever. Well, it just makes me stay away from the forum...

Honestly, I got annoyed with hoan and pinkfloydstarr's babbling, but I do it too. Almost everybody does at some point. Legends have been made from it, including but not limited too Dr. Cheese, GeraldTheMouse and so on and such'n'such.

It's all a part of growing up.
