My dad (RIP) used to come home from a night on the beer, stick Obscures by clouds on the record player as loud as it would go, flop in the chair and fall asleep. Me and my brother would lie in bed listening to it.. I know every soddin beat, scratch and jump of that record, and even now if i hear a track off it i expect it to jump in certain places! I went on to buy my own floyd albums, my brother hated them and even now would not listen to anything they have ever done, Sad twat.....

This girl I liked. She told me she was into Pink Floyd...and be being a dick-head, said "Oh yeah me too.." so really fast I looked up on Napster some of their songs, and told her Comfortably Numb was my favorite song. After I was done talking to her, the search que was still filled out, and I downloaded it...and at first I shut it off right away becasue I didn't like the way the guitar sounded..

But then one rainy day, I listened to the whole song and figured it wasn't so bad. Then I went out and bought Echoes and I've just been getting their albums ever since

I was aware of them all along, Their music was on the radio all the time in '73,'74 (Time , Money). One of my best friends, Al, was taking guitar lessons with me at the time and told me, "If we're ever gonna start a band, you need to play like this guy"...meaning Big Dave of course, and gave me a copy of DSOTM for my birthday (1974, 14 years old). Within a month I had purchased most of their preceeding catalog. I fell in love with the band immediately.

Al and I did form our band the next year, the first song we ever played in front of an audience (25 friends at a party) was Time (my solo). I'll never forget it.....

THe begining of Floyd, for me that is :)

Well, it started when I was at the tender age of 5, I'm 19 now, and when I was five, my parents were musicians and big Floydians. well, one night I was up late with my parents and they were watching, as I recall, the Wall live, 1980 or something, it wasn't the 1991 because...I went to that concert and I was totally hooked....Anyway, as a kid, I admit, I couldn't watch The Wall movie because I was scared....lol....But, as I got into my teens, I could watch it whenever. And, I still think Pompeii is one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Anyway, thats a very short, undetailedstory

IT was just three years back I remember listening to Coming back to life, in my uncle's car. Fell in love with it.... bought the album. Then went on slowly buying all their albums.... it was THE WALL which made me totally bonkers for Pink Floyd. The concept was just too demanding and I couldnt sleep without listening to it once.
