That song...

I always thought it was about my true love. And how I wished he was here.

The song made me so miserable, it was the first I learned on my guitar. It then lead to my getting away from about 30-some odd people who called themselves friends.

Yeah, I loved that song so much, but it was odd, because sometimes it would just be unlistenable.

I used to be afraid of Pink Floyd when I was 10 or so years old... I think the music always sounded ominous to me.

But just a couple of years ago I was turned onto the Floyd by my then-boyfriend, who gave me an extremely scratched copy of the Dark Side of the Moon CD (it actually only played in the CD player in my room). He gave me the CD because he absolutely hated Pink Floyd after becoming a "metalhead" (he's the type that will only listen to one type of music per phase). Then I became infatuated with the music, and with the members making the music, and he began to hate me as well.

I guess it was to be expected: our relationship was originally built on our love for melancholy. Naturally, when I became happy because I'd found something I really loved, he couldn't stand the change.
