I'll ignore the typo because no one likes a smartass.

In 1981 my Uncle Chris gave me a copy of The Wall to listen to. I listened to the tapes until they were worn out. I was instantly hooked.

I then proceeded to buy their back catalogue and the love affair was on.

I now give others copies to turn them on to the greatest band in the history of mankind in order to pay it forward. In fact I just gave a guy at work who has never heard the band before (he's in his early twenties) and told him if he had any musical taste at all he would love the band. I'll get the report back on Monday morning.

Who turned me on to Pink Floyd? Well, they were there and I said, "what the hell?" and I listened to them.

I got myself started on Pink Floyd back in high school - it was either my first or second year. I would hear an occaisional PF song on the radio, and I wanted to hear more. I started with DSOTM. My father was into it too so we would always listen to DSOTM in the car, which was pretty cool. Now, years later, I am into PF more than ever. It is a never ending love and fascination. You guys know how that works.

A handsome young man (he was older than me at the time and oh so worldly) in his tent on the minnesota state fair campground introduced me to DSotM. I'll never forget it or him.

My parents got me into it and I've continued on ever since.

I'm curious, Gerry. Why is it a bad idea to make love to albums?
