I'm glad to hear that. Sometimes I wonder if there are many young Floydians (beyond the Roger fanatics, of which you may or may not be one) who like TFC. I like TFC because I relate to the story being told. While I vehemently disagree with Rog accusing Nixon, Thatcher, Reagan & Begin of being "tyrants", I sympathize with his sorrow at the death of the post-war dream. But that has been the history of man. In just the last century, the post-war dream of 1918 was shattered in the 1930's. The postwar dream of which Roger speaks in TFC was destroyed by Joe Stalin, North Korea, Chairman Mao, Vietnam. The postwar dream of the end of the "cold war" with the USSR has been ruined by the rise of the Islamofascists. It never ends, postwar dreams evaporate, and I think that's what Roger laments. Back on topic, post-Waters Floyd was different, but still very good, IMO. But that's because I'm a Gilmour fan.

| Re: without waters...all hope is lost.... Waters had no interest in a group setting anymore, as this record, which is hardly a Floyd album in many respects, illustrates.

wow. you really know you'e stuff. Well, i am very young in comparison to most others on this board, and i am also a girl, making my minority even greater, but i really like the emotion in the final cut and other waters driven albums and songs. I might not always understand what he's saying, but i can feel the power and emotion, and it really gets me.

Rog may be the best at packing a lot of meaning and emotion into a few lines of a song. I think he's the most intelligent songwriter of our time. While I don't agree with him politically, I have enormous respect for his work, and like to read interviews he's had with various media.

| Re: without waters...all hope is lost.... I think that if one dislikes Dark Side's music, dislikes Gilmour's songs on The Wall and loves... The Final Cut, well, this person should be perfectly happy with Roger Waters' solo stuff. I mean, it's clear you really don't need Pink Floyd at all, so why complaining?

| Re: without waters...all hope is lost.... The Final Cut is good. Just not enough cool guitar solo stuff. I'm more of a David Gilmour Fan, but I don't hate anything wrote in the 'Floyd's name. I just like David Gilmour more, because he is a guitarist and thats my favorite instrument. He also now owns Pink Floyd. :P All in all, Pink Floyd, wether it's with or without Roger, has a good sound. It's just a little... weaker. But with Polly helping write, the songs are better on TDB, than AMLoR. I dunno what the big deal is, really. If you don't like something, then don't listen to it and stop complaining about it on a message board. Sure Roger should have not ruined Pink Floyd like that, but it just happened. Live with it and go listen to the Best of Pink Floyd. Rock on eh.
