I thought it was Chris Thomas who was brought in to mediate between the band and Alan Parsons, although that may have been more for like compression levels, etc.

Don't get me wrong, Rog has written some great music over the years, but after the Wall he seemed to make his work almost completely about the words.
thats totally not what i meant by not being dry...

but yeah. You're definetly right there. His lyrics and voice are what i love but the music is kinda ehhh. I guess i kinda just dig his voice intensley.

All im saying is that, if you don't like the post waters-era, u are most likely to like the WAters era more then all the others. Ones who like the earlier floyd are probably less likely to be opposed to post waters floyd then Fans of the waters era.

Floyd Fans are fans of the entire package, maybe have preferences but still not make the statement that is this Thread.

Roger Waters is not Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd id Pink Floyd
idk..like i guess you have a point there

but i do not like rogers solo stuff, i also do not like dsotm...and my, like, second favorite album is a tie bewteen saucerful of secrets and piper at the gates of dawn, so i guess i'm an overall floyd fan but just sorta scattered. I also really like some of gilmours stuff. so figure.

If it doesn't say "Produced by Pink Floyd" then it's not a real Pink Floyd record.

i think it has less to do with dave or Rogger but mostly the fact that when a band is making music sine the early 60,s until 90,s they will hit a low point and thats what these are just a low point in the bands history. Although i think Waters leaving had a bigger impact than they we think because he was theyer primary creative writer and once he left the band members must been sad.

Re: without waters...all hope is lost....

still great without him, the albums we are little less interesting i suppose.

But Gilmour is responsible for some of the best 'music' the floyd has ever written, same with rick wright.

Waters ego was out of control, he was taking it all on himself, had he stayed we would have had waters solo albums, and THAT would have been boring.

Re: without waters...all hope is lost....

id also say, it could have been alot worse had you taken away gilmour. After all hes a superior vocalist, and far superior guitarist.

He, imo, made it sound good

Thats a good point if he left than the band would of been completly screwed rather than making less intresting albums. Same if Rick left Mason probly wouldnt have much of an effect but he was still an origanal member
