I'm just getting into this band, and I must say that Emerson's piano noodlings (or well thought-out compositions) on the album Emerson, Lake and Palmer are pretty good. Of course, my favorite album is Brain Salad Surgery. And I actually like Benny the Bouncer! I'm hoping to get the live album (Welcome Back My Friends......) soon.

Ahhhh! I love Emerson, Lake and Palmer! Is there anyone out there that is willing to trade for any early (pre 80's, let's say) videos of them live? I'd really appreciate it! Just PM me or something.

Did you guys know that when the band auditioned for drummers, they ended up chosing Palmer of the band The Crazy World of Authur Brown over Mitch Mitchell?

Emerson, Lake and Mitchell.......I like it!

I've only ever heard Emerson, Lake And Palmer and Trilogy. I like Trilogy far better and the title track is my absolute favourite. I'm partial to Hoedown as well...someone could make a crazy techno mix of it.

Pictures at an Exhibition is alright, but I've only heard the live version on an old video I got off Ebay, but Emerson's performance is rather interesting in some points, such as when he rubs a giant ribbon controller all over his arse, and he pushes his Hammond around and drops it on the ground, coaxing all sorts of agonizing groans from the instrument!

Also just to add I heard that Hendrix died just a few days before ELP started recording their first album, and the band invited Hendrix to play with them on the first album. HELP......the most rockin' prog rock band that never was!
