Okay, good, so I'm not the only one who gives burnt offerings to the gods of music every time I listen to Piano Improvisations on Welcome Back My Friends... (the live album). Good to know.

ELP is one of my favourite bands. I'm also a big King Crimson fan, especially the first two albums with Greg Lake.

Only have one King Crimson album (THRAK) but I'm interested in getting more. A friend of mine has a bunch... maybe I'll "borrow" some.

You should definitely pick up "In the Court of the Crimson King". Its sounds NOTHING like "thrak" however. Crimso albums are all quite different. It's best to borrow the albums first and give them a listen before you purchase if possible.

You Forgot "Tarkus" people!

Definitely one of ELP best works.

Released on 1971 if you didn't know.

as For King Crimson, I like their first 4 albums.

I Definitely don't recommend borrowing KC albums cause you tend to discover them slowly.

I've Never heard of a Serious Progressive Rock fan who didn't like the "In the court..." album.
most of the people who like progressive rock like either the court through Island era of KC(1969-1971, IN The Court of the crimson king, In the wake of poseidon, Lizard, Islands), Or the Red era (1972-1974, Lark's Tongue in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black, Red).

Cheers Guys...

I was always impressed with their Works Vol 1 album, each one getting a side to show their particular talents and a fourth side to showcase the group effort. Pirates, C'est la Vie, and Kieth Emmersons Piano Concherto #1, all excellent.

I too am a huge Crimson fan, but I prefer the latter iincarnation, Belew, Fripp, Levin and Bruford. Matte Kudasai, Larks Tongue in Aspic, Dig Me, and Sleepless, love them all. I'm also a big fan of Adrain Belew's solo work.
