music-making programs

Does anyone know of any good music-making software that can be downloaded for free. I want a garageband type program but that's free and that is better. Thanks for the help.

Re: music-making programs

You can't get that stuff for free unless you pirate GOOD programs.

There are no "free" programs like GarageBand.

But I could be wrong.

While the open-source world is definitely not for the faint-hearted, you may find something of interest here.
