I searched audiogalaxy and came up with a few things, one was said to be by pink floyd but it was only a live version of breathe. There are a few other things by different bands that i'm going to try; but whatever I come up with, i'm most interested in a tab.

Has anyone ever seen a tab of a pink floyd medley? I know I can pull one together myself, but it'd be nice to have the joints tabbed out, as they are sure to be a bit tricky.

Oh, and please don't give me any lecture about shortening floyd songs, I appreciate and love the songs as they are, but if i'm going to be preforming, I need to get as much great stuff in the time I have as I can. Thanks.

I'm just going to handle the tabbing bit myself, but i'd like some suggestions on what to put in. Right now i'm very roughly considering, in order:

Shine On, Parts 6-7
Time into Breathe like on DSOTM
Brain Damage
Wish You Were Here
Comfortably Numb

There will clearly be some work put into mending the pieces together so the transitions are smooth. I've been trying to work some of echos in there but so far it isn't fitting too well. It should be in the 30 minute range as is.

Anyway, give me any opinions or suggestions as far as adding songs, taking away, or the order. Thanks.

I personally would put WYWH first and CN last...one is very folksy--almost understated...a quiet yet enticing introduction...whereas CN is a "crescendo" of sorts.

Here is the order I suggest:

WYWH
Brain Damage
SOYCD
Time/Breathe Reprise
CN

Look at the transition between the last note of Breathe Reprise and the first note of CN. Both have the same chord: B minor. Whatever else you do, I would take full advantage of this. THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST TRANSITIONS AVAILABLE.

Also, look at the transition between SOYCD and Brain Damage. The last chord of Brain Damage is D and the opening chord of SOYCD is Gm. It's up to you, but I think these sound good progressing from one to the other (You'll find Dm in the chord progression for SOYCD as it develops--so it's not that dissimilar).

The others may not be so great if you just flow one right into the other (you might need some sort of intermediate steps), but I hope these things help.

What do you think?

yeah, that does work pretty good, plus it would be nice to start with something people know and like, WYWH. Yeah, I think that would be much better, thanks, any opinion on how to work in some echos?

Which section of "Echoes" most interests you?

BTW--I will have to look at the chords again for SOYCD...that ordering came from looking at the first part. Though I think it may still work, I will check again to be sure. Still looks like basically the same progression, but you may have to take another look at how exactly you do the transition.

I'm glad you like what I've got so far! This is FUN!

my version is 23:31, starting about 18:20 and running till the end of the last chorus. I dunno, it's kinda cool but i'm not sure it should be in there. I don't expect to get a nice transition for all of the songs, I figure i'll work out something, so i'm not too worried about that, mostly i'm trying to matchup mood and tempo.

I'm thinking I may have to put together two different medleys, one for a full band, one for solo guitar.

Do you think The Great Gig In The Sky would sound good with the vocal part done on slide?

I honestly don't know--you could always try it! I have heard (on Us and Them: The Symphonic Pink Floyd) the vocal line done with a violin, and I thought it sounded very good.

hi

What you have so far sounds great. I would go with parts 2-5 for SOYCD. I also play guitar, but I'm not in a band so you would know best. I haven't tried it yet, but since you were looking for a way to include Echoes as a transition into another song or vice versa, you might want to see if you can have a smoothe transition from Echoes to Brain Damage or vice versa. Instead of going into Eclipse (if you're not going to do that song anyway) go into the first verse of Echoes.

My set list would be:
Wish You Were Here
Shine On, Parts 2-5
Time into Breathe like on DSOTM
Brain Damage
Echoes (1st half)
Comfortably Numb

For solo guitar:

Pigs on the Wing pts1-2 (with guitar solo as heard on the rare 8 track version of Animals)

Is There Anybody Out There?

Fat Old Sun

Mother
