Offers flood in for Barrett's home

Offers have flooded in for a house once owned by Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett.

More than 40 people this weekend viewed the three-bedroom house in Cambridge which is on the market with a guide price of £300,000.

Roger 'Syd' Barrett, who died in July aged 60, moved into the 1930s-built house in 1981 after returning to Cambridge from London.

A spokesman for Cheffins estate agents said they had received several offers for the property at or above the guide price...

Pink Floyd writer's paintings sold and it appears his "Still Life with Lemons and Green Bottles on a Shelf" was the most popular item.

If Cheffins, the regional auction house handling the sale, had had internet biddfing - like most modern auctioneers - I might have been tempted to bid for the odd knick-knack or goo-gah.
