Question When did your name peak?

LINK

Type in your name and hit enter. Blue shows "Boy" names. "Pink" shows girl names.

For example, "John" gives: Ranked 1 through much of the 1880s, and by 1940 had come down to rank 3. By 2005 it is ranked 18th. Atleast 4,000 male babies per million were named "John".

cheers,

Re: When did your name peak?

I had no idea my name was that popular! But I guess it's only in the US, here it's not very common.

Re: When did your name peak?

Mine (Brian) peaked in the 1970's. I was born in 1963, when it was 16th on the list.

Cool site, Simon!

Re: When did your name peak?

In the early 60's, my name (and permutations thereof) seems to have peaked around #12.

Re: When did your name peak?

English version of my name reached its peak around 1890 But in Poland it's quite popular, especially when I was born (1988)

Thank heavens Mary as a boys name had nosedived by 1970, otherwise knowing my mother Johnny Cash would have had material for another song.
