Talking Another poem from the local drunk....

this is a poem i wrote a couple years ago and then promptly forgot about until a few days ago when i was digging through a desk drawer and found it. lemme know if anyone likes it/hates it or just ignore it and get a good laugh out of it, whatever works folks...

Daisy

Standing on the edge of night,
With my wings to broken to fly.
Seeking the treasure of a thousand pains,
I wish I could again feel the rain.
Shadows stretched along the frozen walls,
Echoes heard their wailing calls.
Shepherds searching for the forgotten flock,
A constant ticking of mighty lock.
Lovers waltzing to a ding-dong rhyme,
Forgetting the loss of time.
Dead Men waking with a cry of glee,
Staring back as if watching me.
A shepherd’s crook hanging in the tree,
The young maiden pours herself a cup of tea.
Stormy skies bring memories of rain,
A low rumbling of a passing train.
The sun hangs low in the southern sky,
Her lonely cries “wishing I could die.”
Ice running down my spine,
Fire burning with the smell of pine.
Broken wings too scarred to fly,
Keeping me here on the edge of night.

cheers y'all!
