| The Daydreamer Even though the other thread was for this story, I had the legend posted there, so heres part one of The Daydreamer!: The Daydreamer By John Flynn “Why do we have to move for?” Jenny complained “Your father has to move because of his job. So stop complaining and it will be OK when we get there.” Her mother said Jenny’s father belonged to a committee that forced him to move to different locations across Louisiana. His next assignment was to consult with town government to them build a building for the committee in the Town of Night stroke. The car pulled over to a gas station and Jenny’s father got out of the car. He walked into the mini mart. “Excuse me, do you know where the town of Night stroke is?” He said. “Yes. But are you sure you want to go there?” The man at the desk replied. “Yes, why do you say that? Is the town haunted?” “No, not that. They are not people friendly. They like to have only citizen born people living in their town.” “Oh, don’t worry. We are very friendly people and we will get along just fine. Now, where do I go because I think I am lost.” “Ok, what you want to do is take a left at the fork of the road. From there, make a right at the second road on the right. Keep going down that road until you reach Night Stroke. Enjoy your stay, and do you need to be filled up before you leave?” “No thank you. I’m full. Thanks anyway.” He walked out and got into the car. He started the engine and drove away. Jenny looked out the window and stared at the mini mart and saw the man walk out and watch us drive down the road. Chapter One: A New Home Jenny was still watching out the window, watching everything go by. Then, about twenty minuets later, they came to a stop and her parents both got out of the car. She looked out the windshield to find her parents standing next to each other. She opened the door and ran out to her parents. “What’s the matter?” “Baby, we are here. Look how beautiful it is!” Jenny looked out to where her mom was looking. She saw a white sanded beach, blue sea and a clear sky blue sky with crystal white clouds. There was no car honking, no pollution, no loud talking. Just the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore. The most relaxing sound Jenny ever heard. She smelled the salty ocean. She shut her eyes and laid on the car. For five minuets she lay there. Then the horn honked. “Come on baby. We are going to the hotel!” She got off the car and into the back seat. The car started again and they drove off. They stopped at the Marriott, where a man came out and greeted us. He snapped his fingers and two other men, or young boys, came out and asked us for our luggage. Jenny’s father handed them their luggage one by one. They took it, and put it on a wagon and strolled it in. The greeting man came to Jenny’s father. “You must be the Pizzuro’s. You are the new people that are moving in the house that is currently being built. Welcome.” “Thank you sir. But, the man at the gas station said that this town isn’t ‘people friendly’. You seem pretty nice.” Jenny’s father replied. “Thank you, but I don’t live here. I live in the town on the right side of the fork in the road.” He said. The two luggage men gave him and Jenny’s father a bad look. One whispered to the other: “Dirty outsiders.” As Jenny heard it. She walked over to the car, where her mother was standing. She bent down to Jenny. “Don’t worry Jenny, we will have a great time here. You will make friends soon.” Jenny nodded and her father walked over. “Let’s tour the city. They will have our room ready by dinner time.” “That’s a great idea,” Jenny’s Mother began. “We can see where your school is, where we are going to live in one week.” Both her parents got into the car. Jenny looked upon the town from the hill the hotel entrance was sitting upon. Then she got back into the car and they drove off. The first stop was Jenny’s school. It was very big. The doors looked like they were from a state penitentiary. The windows were caged in like there was no way out once you got in. The school was also a brown colored charcoal crayon. In the distance Jenny saw a factory that looked the factory from the cover of ‘Animals’. “Wow…this is a unique school. I’m sure the first impression is nothing to what the school really is in the inside.” “Am I going to jail, or primary school?” Jenny replied. “It sure looks like a jail, but it isn’t.” Jenny’s Father said. They drove off down the road. About ten minuets later, they reached their soon-to-be house. The men were still working on it, but it was almost finished by the looks of it. But the inside most likely needed to be finished. They pulled over and asked a man that was taking a break how much progression was being made. “Well, signor.” He said. “We made quiet progress over the last two weeks. A lot of work has been done, and I hope you people enjoy it.” After a half hour, they got back into the car. They wanted to explore the town. When they got into the town, all the people stared at them like they were evil people and they were not to be trusted. Jenny did not like this at all. If the town’s people got that kind of first impression, no one will talk to her in school. Or worse, mocked, made fun of, provoked, and verbally tortured. She thought: nothing good was going to come out of this. She feared a lot of things. She was afraid. Hopefully, her teacher will silence the kids. The teacher can’t be mean and cruel to a child. The only thing she could do…was hope for the best. And hope that she is wrong. Chapter Two: The First Day of School- Discovering the Dream That night, Jenny’s family went to a restaurant for dinner, where they weren’t treated very nicely at all. The waiter came and took our order: “Ok, what the hell do you want?” Her parents were shocked. But they politely ordered. And so did Jenny. She brought them their food. At least she didn’t over charge them. She whispered in her father’s ear: “I’m so sorry for the rudeness. I don’t want to get fired. Enjoy your stay here.” They left, feeling a little better about the situation. They started fir the hotel. When they got there, the man from before was there to greet them. He shook he father’s hand. He said to follow him so he can show them where there room was. About five minuets later, they got to there room. It was a big room. One bed for Jenny’s parents, and another room for Jenny. There was a kitchen and two bathrooms. It was a very, very lovely room, in Jenny’s opinion. Her parents were worried how much this room would cost. But, the committee picked in out for them, so there would be no trouble. At least they thought so. “This is an incredible room! How can the committee pay for this?” Jenny’s mother asked. “Well, we are only staying here for a week. It couldn’t be that expensive.” Her father responded. Te next morning, Jenny’s mother awoke her. “Time for school, Jenny. Wake up.” Jenny didn’t want to go to school. She didn’t know what would happen to her. But, she had to anyway. She got up, went to the bathroom, got dressed, brushed her teeth and headed out the door. She screamed: “By mom, by dad! See you later!” She walked out of the hotel and down to the car with a driver waiting for her. She got into the back and driver introduced himself: “Hello, I’m Jeremy, your driver. You can call me Jerry.” She nodded and said: “Hi, Jerry. I’m Jenny. Thank you for driving me to school. Will you do this everyday?” “Yes. I am your personal driver. I was hired from your father’s boss. Ok, here we go.” Jenny felt glad that it was one of her father’s ‘comrades’. So, so far was cool for her. About ten minuets later, they reached the school and one of the kids saw the black Chrysler 300 pull up in front of the school. He shouted: “Look! It’s the new kid!” She got out of the car, and everyone was staring at her. A girl, about her age, came up to her. “Hello. Welcome to Night Stroke Primary School. My name is Christa. What is yours?” “Umm…” She began. “My name is Jenny. Nice to meet you.” Christa smiled. She started to walk towards the doors. She turned around and signaled her to follow. So, Jenny did. She started to follow her into the school. The main hallway was huge. About twenty feet from the door, was the main office. A woman, young and pretty, walked out of the office and spotted the two girls. “Why, hello Christa. Who is this? The new girl I presume.” “Yes it is Ms. Harris. Her name is Jenny.” “Hello Jenny. I am Ms. Harris. I am your new teacher.” She put out her hand for a handshake. “Hi Ms. Harris…” Jenny replied. She also put out her hand. Ms. Harris smiled and walked away. Jenny was shoved from the back from a big boy. He high fived the boys next to him. Then the bell rang and all the kids came in, pushing Jenny. Christa wasn’t touched. Jenny thought that she was being pushed on purpose. She sighed and walked with Christa. But she walked faster, trying to avoid her. “Wait, Christa!” Jenny screamed. “That ‘friendly to the new girl’ act was all so I wouldn’t get into trouble. See you later” Jenny felt used and she was terribly upset. Christa and the other girls she walked with were laughing. Jenny put her head down and walked to her locker. At her locker, waited that same boy. “Hello, Jenny.” But, that’s all he said. And he waited. Jenny was a little nervous. She opened her locker, where books and binders were already prepared for her. She took them and closed her locker. She started to walk. And that boy followed. Then all of a sudden he knocked the books right from under her arm. The books fell on the ground, with the papers scattered on the ground. The whole hallway started to laugh, all pointing at her. Jenny began to pick up her books, when Christa walked by, purposely kicking her books. “Oops. My bad.” She walked away laughing. After she picked up her books and ran off to her classroom. Ms. Harris was there and Jenny slammed her books on the desk and began to cry. Ms. Harris ran to her aid. “What’s the matter? Why are you crying?” Sobbing, Jenny Answered: “Some kid knocked down my books and Christa kicked them. The whole was laughing. AT ME!” She put her head down again, continuing to cry. Ms. Harris left her there. She was getting tired, and shortly fell asleep… The First Dream “Hi Jenny. Wake up darling.” Jenny arose. She was surrounded by water. The ocean in fact. She was on an island. A woman, about the same age as Ms. Harris was smiling at her. “Hi Jenny. My name Amelia. And welcome to paradise.” Jenny got up and looked around. “Are we marooned?” Jenny asked. “Yes. I have been for a very long time. Finally someone to talk to.” Jenny took a whiff of the ocean air. Seagulls were screaming all around. The ocean was as blue as the sky. The perfect white-sanded beach wasn’t too hot. It was in fact; it was perfectly warm for her feet. The palm trees were richly green and covered the middle of the island. It was truly paradise. Jenny started to walk down the beach, enjoying where she was. Amelia followed her. “Amelia! This is the perfect place!” Jenny screamed. Amelia smiled. Jenny went into the ocean and splashed the nice, warm water at Amelia. ‘That’s it! I’m coming to get you!” Amelia screamed. The both were splashing each other. Laughing, having tons of fun. The sun started to go down. Amelia and Jenny lay on the beach and watched the sun go down. “I had fun today, Amelia.” ‘So did I. Goodbye Jenny.” “Goodbye Amelia…” Jenny woke up to find Ms. Harris sitting in her seat. “Did you have a nice dream, Jenny?” She said. “Yes I did! I dreamt I was marooned on an island with a woman named Amelia! We had so much fun!” “Well, I glad to hear that. But, you have to go home now. Jerry, has been waiting outside a long time for you.” “Ok, see you tomorrow, Ms. Harris.” Jenny ran out the door. Outside, Jerry was sitting in the car, asleep. Jenny knocked on the window. Jerry startled and un-locked the door. Jenny got into the car and the car drove away. End of Part One I was going to originally write the whole thing, but I will release it into parts. Write your opinion, I wanna know what you people think!

I dreamt about being on an island with a woman named Amelia.” Jenny was writing in her journal. Her mother knocked on the door. “Jenny, time for bed.” “Ok mommy.” Jenny closed her journal and put it back behind the headboard of her bed. She hopped in and turned off the lamp. She closed her eyes. “Welcome back Jenny. I missed you.” Jenny awoke on the beach again. She got up. “Hello, Amelia. I’m so glad to be back.” “I have terrible news though,” Amelia said. “War is beginning. The leader of the land is sending troops to a distant land. He wants the harsh leader to be put out of power and a new government be set, so the people may live in peace. And here’s a letter from the leader himself to you.” Amelia handed the letter to Jenny. She opened it and took it out. It read: Dear Jenny, The war department is sending Amelia to the Tertian Hospital in the far land. Since you, Jenny, shall be alone, you will come with Amelia. But, you shall hold something very important. It is the key to the nuclear plant at the enemy base. We applied you to be the key’s keeper. Good luck. War Department. Jenny stared. She looked up at Amelia. “Why didn’t you tell me? I’m never going to see you again!” “Yes you will.” Jenny awoke and looked at her clock. It was Nine o’ clock. Her mother walked in. “There was no school today. Look out side.” Jenny got out of bed and looked. The wind was blowing really hard. “Could that knock people off their feet?” Jenny asked. “It did. Twenty people were injured because it blew them off their feet.” Jenny was glad. She went back to sleep, but couldn’t. Then she got up to go to the bathroom, and found sleeping pills on the counter. She looked out the door. Her mother was in her room, getting ready to go back to bed. She went to the bathroom, and then she took a glass of water and took some sleeping pills, un-aware of how much to take. She took them and went back to bed… Jenny awoke in a dark field…but it was all destroyed. She was in a line with men, looked like they went through hell. The man next to her looked at her. “Hey. I’m Billy Maron. What’s your name?” “My name is Jenny. Why am I here?” “You must be the key keeper. I am your protector. Nice to meet you.” A whistle blew and ever man on the line ran out. “That’s our queue. Let’s go.” Billy grabbed her hand and dragged her behind him. A wave of bullets came flying past the soldiers. They took out their guns and fired back. One by one fell to the ground and Billy and Jenny kept running. Then the gunfire stopped. They heard men shouting. Then the soldiers heard distant plane engines. The sound got louder and louder. “BOMB! RUN AWAY!” One soldier screamed. The rest looked up and saw the plane’s doors open and a large object come out. They screamed and ran. “Let’s get out of here!” Bill said to Jenny He took her hand and ran the other direction. He ran faster and faster. Then a bullet came flying through the air and hit Billy in the leg. He fell to the ground. Jenny also fell and got up. She ran to Billy. “BILLY, GET UP!” She screamed. “I can’t. The bullet hit my leg, I can’t walk. Jimmy, take her and run. Quick!” “NO! I WON’T LEAVE YOU, PLEASE COME WITH ME! NO! LET GO OF ME! BILLY!” Billy was lying on the ground. “I guess this is how it ends.” A great light suddenly came, then a loud bang. Jenny was running then turned around and saw a light getting closer and closer. She widened her eyes. The light came closer and closer… Her eyes opened. “I want to know what happens!” Jenny said. She ran into the bathroom and took more sleeping pills, this time more. Then she yawned. She ran to bed and closed her eyes. The light came closer and closer…Jenny then ran behind a piece of building and pulled Jimmy with her. The light whipped past her, the created heat, hotter than two hundred degrees, or so they felt. The piece of building started to chip away, piece-by-piece. “We don’t have much time.” Jimmy said. “I feel really sick.” Jenny suddenly awoke in a hospital. She began to panic. ‘Where am I? Where’s my mommy!” A doctor came over. “You overdosed on sleeping pills. You are in serious danger. You may die.” She started to breath heavily and then fainted. Jenny awoke in a white room. Amelia was there. “Jenny, don’t do this to yourself. You are risking your life just to see us.” She said. “Yea, I don’t want you to die too.” Billy said. “Billy, are you ok?” Jenny asked. “I am dead…and so is Amelia. And Jimmy. All of us.” “Wha-what? Am I dead too?” “Yes, but if you can fight this, you can see us any time you want. Be strong. Do it for you. Do it for me.” Jenny nodded her head. She shut her eyes, beginning to cry. “Don’t worry. I will see you later.” Jenny nodded again and waved to everyone. They waved back. She awoke, gasping for breath. She saw the doctor, sweating bullets. He screamed: “She’s alive!” The emergency room clapped and her parents came in and hugged their daughter. “We thought we lost you.” Jenny’s mom said, sobbing. “I did too.” She looked around the hospital to find a young woman, standing there with a clipboard writing something. She looked at the nametag. It said: Amelia. Jenny smiled. Then she overheard the conversation with the doctor. “Your son, Billy, came back from Iraq Doctor Maron.” “What a relief, I am so glad.” Jenny again smiled. Then a guy came in with flowers. “Delivery to a Miss Jenny.” Jenny grabbed her flowers and looked at his nametag: Jimmy. She smiled again and looked at the card. Jenny, We are all sorry for what we did to you. Hope you fell well! Your Truly, Night Stroke Primary School Jenny smiled and cried. Things started to look better for Jenny… The End
