Re: point me at the sky I think its them trying to sound like The Beatles more than Syd. The song's a bit daft though, much better than It Would Be So Nice.

Re: point me at the sky The first time I heard it, I loved it. But then I realised how similar it is to Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and the more I heard it the less I liked it.

| Re: point me at the sky I think the studio version is pretty much crap, but the 'live' BBC recording is a lot better.

Re: point me at the sky One of THE best early Floyd tracks!! It sucks it was only available on the Shine On Box Set back when I first heard the song (1997 or so)--ended up paying $150 just to hear that ONE TRACK!!! Great track, though!

Re: point me at the sky I don't like it at all. Pink Floyd is a great band because (among other things) of their very distinctive style which makes them a class of their own in rock history. In "Point Me at the Sky" they tried to make a pop single that sounded a lot like the Beatles and which wasn't written by Syd (the one who could actually write good pop singles).

Re: point me at the sky Hey! I think the song fits well to the 45rpm single release anyway, because the B-side was pretty much opposite in all aspects of "Point Me at the Sky." You get one poppy-poppy british tune, and then the raging nightmare!!! (Careful with that axe....)
