As usual, BoaB is right. Damn him. Arnold, I enjoy a little verbal sparring. The Layme thing was all in fun. Like 2 atheletes talking trash at each other in the heat of battle. Of course, I never take this stuff too seriously. Please don't take me too seriously. I don't really expect or want to change anyones opinion. Except those whose opinions differ from mine. __________________________ What did you dream it's alright we told you what to dream

By the way, Arnold Layne is 100%, absolutely, definitely right.

I think Arnold Layne is pretty close. Although I do like TFC more than you'd expect of me to look at my name, I think Arnold has spoken pretty well, especially when he names what he believes is the biggest mistake of all. I think the two sides need to stay separate. That is the best for BOTH, because that way no one winds up getting their creative wings clipped, so to speak. I like both the current Floyd and solo RW (well, KAOS and ATD, at least, and the samples he's given us from the next work). Welcome to the board, Arnold.

I read Roger's interview (Sept 88) called RW exposes the secrets of R N R's most self-destructive supergroup, PF in the interviews forum, and my impression is that Roger was furious with Dave because Dave snagged Bob Ezrin** right out from under Rog for use on AMLoR and because Dave's AMLoR album and tour were great successes while Rog himself was playing to a crowd of 1500 in Cincinnati with KAOS. A classic case of sour grapes. (others) making money has always pissed off ol' Rog and his devotees like baremynakedfeelings. BTW, I'm studying Rog's interviews and compiling a list of his platitudes for saving humanity from capitalism. I'll report on this later. (***The entire APFFN network staggers with nausea***)**sarah, I think this supports the speculation that Ezrin was the "Bob" ridiculed in ATD. Last edited by stratman; 07-08-2002 at 03:47 PM. |

I have thoroughly enjoyed this forum for the 2 days or so that I've been a member. As I said earlier, it is great to chat with so many devout Floyd fans. I too enjoy a little sparring Sarah, I know it was all in fun--Actually, I hope we can go at it again soon!--I'm sure we can conjur up another topic we can disagree on!--lol Everyone's points are well taken on this issue. However, I will take back my original statement that said, "About Face" was was Excellent--it was just Very Good!

Don't worry, Arnie & Geraldo--Floyd-dom is so festooned with debatable topics that you can count on another brawl pronto. Maybe we can find one that hasn't been thrashed to death. Last edited by stratman; 07-08-2002 at 07:44 PM.

Balderdash and poppycock! What the boys need is a good stiff kick in the pants, thrown back into the studios and somehow compelled to work together again. You KNOW they really are itching to, they probably KNOW it too but pride and childishness - quite unseemly in men their ages - prevent any movement forward. We've seen some this year, but only some. And all of you, no matter what you say and think you believe, all of you KNOW if that were to happen, you'd almost injure yourselves to have that recording. Just to HAVE it. So cut the bullshit. Okay, in all likelihood none of the above is expected to happen, but I can remember when everyone thought the Berlin Wall was there to stay. Never say never. Pease porridge hot, pease porridge cold, Byron stratman: hmmm...a list of Roger's "platitudes for saving humanity from capitalism", eh? Does this mean you don't think humanity needs saving from it?

Dang. No one noticed my stab at humor. Byron: Yes---- In fact I think we should export it.
