Sarah and Thorin: for One of My Turns at the Berlin show, they put up a sugar-glass window next to the hotel set. Waters threw two guitars, a piece of furniture, and a lamp post out of the window. So I guess he destroyed the set.

It sounds lackluster. We're talking about Berlin, right? I just can't bear to watch it. I saw C. Lauper and a couple others one time and I just hated it. The spectacle was amazing but I don't enjoy Live in Berlin. He should have destroyed the set.

Man, do I agree with that. Cindi Lauper was a total embarassment. I think Roseanne Barr would have been better, if "outrageous" was what Rog was after.

I can definitely see where KAOS, the lawsuit and Live at the Berlin Wall would turn a whole lot of people off to Waters. A succession of shit. That's where he blew it with a lot of people who were his fans.

Hmmm...I guess I'm the odd man out on this one...which is a bit queer considering I'm usually at the vanguard of good taste.

I liked Cyndi Lauper, but it must be that I saw her show Live in London once and was totally blown away by it.

The only bits of Live in Berlin I hated were Mrs. Jagger before One of My Turns, and the C&W bits. Yuck!

Indeed. The Wall Live in Berlin is probably the worst thing released by a Floyd member. Really awful.
I was amazed when I bought Amused To Death because it was surprisingly good.

I'm sure Cyndi singing Cyndi stuff is fine. My problem is that after having heard that song a gazillion times, Cyndi's twitchy Tourette-syndrome screeches on Another Brick 2 was like a nail being driven into my skull.

I've never seen Live at Berlin before. I don't want to now, that's for sure.

Gilmour's lust for money?

I'm an obsessive Floyd freak. I read books and interviews and try and learn all I can on the band. However, I'd like to make a comment about the poster's accusation of Gilmour's greed. I don't really see any greed in the man. When Floyd were doing the Division Bell Tour, Volkswagen asked them to promote them on tour. Later, Gilmour felt terrible for doing it and gave all of the money to charity. And as I've previously posted, he also gave all of the money he made from selling one of his homes to charity. Also, in the earlier years of Floyd, they were approached by a French Sour Lemon Carbonated beverage company named GINI or something like that and they took the money from that and gave it to a charity that they've been one of the most frequent doners. He has admitted that he has plenty of money. However, Mason is a different story. I don't really know much about him, so I can't really comment. But nonetheless, I do agree with you about Waters being a sensitive guy. The fact that he mourned his father's death for so long is kind of a sign he can't let things go too easily.
Anyways, is In the Flesh Live a good DVD to buy?

Cheers,
lucifersamradio

Well, I thought ITF Live DVD was good. But that's just me. I think all the classic stuff is great. Esp Mother and Dogs. WYWH is never going to be right without Dave scat-singing to his guitar at the end of the song. I skip over the Pros & Cons and ATD stuff. You might research some of the threads that discuss it.

I agree Dave is not "greedy". And if he is/was, so what? He earned it.

I think this thread contains a lot of valuable content...really enjoyed reading this...but I noticed one thing... many 3/4 comments...Well, what about Syd...Pink Floyd, contains 2 original band members...Roger is the third...Yes, some of Pink Floyd's greatest works were composed Gilmour and some of you may feel differently. Just depends on the person. However, Syd was the foundation of Pink Floyd, naming the band, and writing their early hits. Perhaps you might agree, inventing the tone, and direction for the band and their music.

A couple other things I wanted to touch on...In the Flesh..Cleveland 99...awesome. The DVD, awesome.

Of course David wrote the solos, Doyle did a hell of job playing them. Along with the rest of Roger's band. Snowy has been playing with the Pink Floyd for years, and I think John Carin is very talented. The concert was energetic, and Roger is awesome on stage.

One last thing. I would love to hear more on a Pink Floyd reunion. Who is for and who is against. I have often fantasized that this whole thing was planned, some mysterious Pink Floyd plot to trip out the fans. I know this is unlikely...but can you just imagine..seeing them up their together..Roger and Dave do compliment eachother..without, they are each missing certain aspects of Pink Floyd in their live shows and albums. Do you realize, they could book 3 shows a night and still sell out. Pink Floyd was before my birth...I'd give anything to see them before my destined journey amongst the stars.

I must admit...I have thought the same once or twice. When Division Bell first came out, and there was all that crap about Publius Enigma, I had a bit of a theory that the solution was something about the whole Pink Floyd breakup being planned, and Roger's imminent return some time in the future.

Of course, now I'm a little more cynical: I think the whole Publius thing was a ****ing joke, and having seen Roger live this year, I DON'T think there is any chance of a reunion.
