How much do you spend on music???

a local FM DJ was reading a poll that stated if you buy an average amount of money on equipment, music, downloads, concerts and memorabilia that you will have spent 1 years income on music in your lifetime...

if you spend an amount as low as $20 a week that equals over $1000 a year...for me i know i've spent over $100,000,even considering you could buy a brand new album for 3 bucks, way back when!!!

I don't know how much total. Not as much lately, but I've spent plenty of money on CDs, guitars/gear, a synthesizer, concert DVDs, concerts, and such.

Very little, I download most of my music. The last thing I bought was a Gorillaz DVD for $13 or so.

Hmmm.... can't keep a tally. I've got 250 LPs, and if you average those at the classic $4 per you can buy them used for, then that's a grand right there. Guitars, I've got a few, maybe another grand. CDs, 200 of those, at $12 per new, that's $2400. Strings, drumsticks, etc.... It's a lot of money you spend over the years without realizing "Damn, if I would have not bought all this crap over the space of ten years, then I could put a down payment on a house."

If I gave you an average for a month, I'd say I spend about $20 on CDs (I buy used). But there are about 3 or 4 months out of the year where I'll drop $70+ on a CD buying binge.

But as of late, money isn't as plentiful, so I don't foresee many binges.

Re: How much do you spend on music???

I buy less CDs than I used to, these days, I think I spend more money on DVDs (films) actually: I never buy more than a couple of CDs per month I'd say. I don't know, last year I spent more than 300 € for the two Gilmour concerts only, not to mention the other gigs... so it depends more on what concerts are happening or not... and the money I have in that moment of course!!!
