Re: The Greatest Bootleg of Early Floyd Material?

Still 'Heart Involvement' for me. The 70/71 Paris Cinema shows, from the BBC soundboards, complete without cuts, including Peel intros and audience. The recordings have been mixed properly too. As clear as a bell. Awesome. The Empire Pool show is another BBC soundboard from 74, various issues are easily available on ebay including one with an audience source overlayed onto the SDBD but still not quite as impressive, a HI, still pretty good though. Opinion may vary and mine is obviously not definitive because I'm not a diehard and I only listen to complete soundboards and these are the only three shows from early floyd that are clear and complete, somebody PLEASE correct me so that I can find more.

This collection has some great Early Syd. Came across it just now. I have only heard of the El Sid cd. Supposedly an Italian fan club gem.

It's probably not appropriate to link to it, but I recently wrote an article for another site about my faves.
Pink Floyd: Where Are The Rest Of The Treasures? | Features

I'm Amadeus over there (also not my real name).

But briefly: You don't really need to buy "boots" anymore with the internet being so handy at passing around even lossless files. It sort of puts the stop to arguments about copyright and piracy etc since there, by rights, shouldn't be any charge for this stuff anymore. It's a case of "produced by the fans for the fans".
Along with historical tapes having been "fixed up" with modern software etc, ie: speed correction, dropouts, etc,, you can get very nice cover scans to make your own CD and covers.
A couple of examples are an expanded (to the full concert) version of "Smoking Blues" - Montreux Nov,21 1970,,,already great sound but with (I think) the rest of the songs from that same concert. The "Syd" artwork has been replaced and it is now called "Too Late For Mind Expanding", after a stage announcement near the end of the show.

M502 - Hamburg, Feb 25, 1971 I think I've mentioned here before. Great sound and awesome versions of AHM and ASoS. A classic boot fixed up for the 21st century!

There's lots of stuff from the BBC and some of the aforementioned desk recordings that really should be packaged up nicely into nice releases with booklets and info and perhaps marbles?
Maybe a couple of "classic" early PF concerts. They released The Wall live, how about a couple of the adventurous early shows?
Because, really, Ummagumma (live) on it's own, just doesn't cut it!

Might wanna try out eBay. I just found:

"Remember a Day"

(Swinging Dog Records)

(Rare tracks)

Side 1, Live in Rome 1968, Dutch TV. Astronomy domine,

Set The Controls..,Interstellar

Side 2, Remember A Day. (Jools Holland Show Feb 2008). It Would Be So Nice (orig 1968 mono mix non-album track), Julia Dream (orig. mono mix), Point Me To The Sky (orig mono mix non-album track),

Be Careful with That Axe (orig mono mix), Jugband 1968 (early mono mix from acetate)

This is on vinyl - I really don't care much for CD-releases if the recording can be found on vinyl also!

BTW, I'll recommend this site for information on PF-bootlegs;
